In the context of the situation this comment is quite possibly one of the most retarded things I have ever read.
No they didn't invent music, but it's their song. They have rights to it, and for Microsoft to use it to advertise their own product and make money isn't right.
I'm not saying fuck Microsoft, I'm not that into LBP either (it was fun for a while but eh), I'm just saying, your comment really is nonsense.
Um.
Call me crazy, but Mircosoft isn't stupid enough to use a song without the proper rights to use it.
BRB going to play LittlebigPlanet.
I only get 20€ a month and 5€ of that just to use a console I already bought is way too much. I would buy the XBox 360 if it had integrated Wifi, came with 2 controllers or supported USB controllers and Live was free. Actually I would have bought it months ago.
If you're only getting 20€ a month you need to get a better job.
My minimum wage job here in the States lands me about $200 every two weeks on average, and I don't even work all that much.
It's not LBP's theme. It's just a song, and both the LBP team and Microsoft seems to like it.
Oh. Well in light of this information then I was wrong in my first comment of the thread.
But saying something like "OH LBP INVENTED MUSIC LOL GET REAL" in an argument over copyright is still dumb as hell
I wan't netflix in finland :(
Boo hoo they used music from a PS3 game
I think both 360 and PS3 need to chill out and talk their problems out
You would only know that the music was from LittleBigPlanet if you had it and had played it to the point of recognising the music, in which case you would have a ps3, and probably not be buying a 360.
False, I played LBP once and I know that tune.
The only notable ad that microsoft ever made was the hilarious fake fight one, and that got banned.
And knowing about a product doesn't mean it has good adverts, it just means it has lots of them. Would you call that Headon advert good because everyone knows about it?
Yes. It did what it was made to do. It got people's attention. Sure you know about it because it is amusing, but now if you walk in a shop and see some Headon, you'll think "Hey, that's from that hilarious advert. Maybe we should try it for the LULZ!!!" obviously 'cause you're such an internet pro and lulzy in general.
And since this was in LBP, it actually assists this ad, so people will hear it and go "Oh, is that LBP music?" then they watch the ad, thinking "Where's the LBP.", but they watched the ad, so they learned about XBL and are now probably curious about it.
E: Wow, this grew fast. :<
As long as they bought the right to use the song it's fine. I've heard this song used in other videos
And so with the addition of social networking features to the xbox along with os installation on the rival console, the major consoles edge ever closer to being shitty PC's.
Everyone arguing in this thread is overreacting.
Yes, most people associate this song with LBP, I certainly do.
But just because Microsoft used it doesn't mean we should start a flame war about which console is better. AGAIN.
It was Microsoft's shitty choice of music that causes a lot of people to think of LBP, and that's what this thread is pointing out.
That and the actual Xbox LIVE experience is certainly not free.
On the critiquing of the commercial:
Why use the LBP music? It's not worth it in the long run.
Every current gen system can download demos, why advertise that?
LIVE most certainly is not free if you want to use all of the features.
And as a general complaint towards the XBox because this has bothered me for ages:
Why the fuck do you charge an extra 50-100 bucks so I can play wirelessly? It's bullshit.
Stupid 360's just RROD, my friends 360 RRODed while we were playing GTA IV, just like that :saddowns:
The song itself is by 'The Go! Team', it belongs to neither of them. Neither can take credit for the song.
I don't really care, the song is good. So nothing really matters.
The whole point is that PS3 owners associate the song, and it's just ironic that MS is using it. THAT'S IT. Jesus Christ people.

Are you the self-proclaimed Wise Facepunch User or something because every thread you seem to think more and more highly of yourself. Meanwhile everyone else thinks you're an idiot

if you buy it 12 months later than whenever you planned to buy it then you would have saved $50. 8D
nevermind
They're allowed to but that doesn't change the fact that a huge load of people now associate "Get It Together" with LittleBigPlanet.
I watched the video looking for a little big planet reference and then when I didn't see one I read the rest of the post to discover it was the song. I had no idea.
arguing over this is about as stupid as 360fags raging because sony used a song from guitar hero in a commercial.
who the fuck cares? the go! team didnt make that song for LBP and sony has no copyright over it.
I had no idea this music was in Little Big Planet
