Best intro ever. Does anyone know the songs name? I swear I've heard it in other places.
What's with the kooky armour and the tacticool guns; how could they replace the Morita? :gonk:
We need Roughneck forum avatars. That will show those damn pony's. But I do like my current one. Also @ Empty_Shadow I do very much agree that is an awesome intro. [editline]18th April 2011[/editline] Actually I'll add the intro song to the OP cheers.
What's with the kooky armour and the tacticool guns; how could they replace the Morita? :gonk:
That was the original armor and guns from the book. The Movie bastardized the book by the way. I remember reading on STC website taht listed the order in which the episodes were played out that if you watched the Movie first and then the book, you'd hate the book but if you read the book and then saw the movie, you'd hate the movie.
Alright, because I've been reading bits from the book and its A MILLION times better than the stupid movie.
If you read the story, it doesn't even sound like the movie.
If you read the story, it doesn't even sound like the movie.
Yeah I know.
It still feels quite DOOM 3 in terms of graphics.
IMO marauders were 10x more badass than the troopers.
IMO marauders were 10x more badass than the troopers.
I'd have to disagree but they were both awesomely badass. [editline]18th April 2011[/editline]
It still feels quite DOOM 3 in terms of graphics.
Which when you point to 1999...is amazing.

Actually, the youtube comments point to a classic piece of music.
Actually, the youtube comments point to a classic piece of music.
For the intro? Because that music is very awesome.
The Tesca Campaign (5 episodes) Takes place on the jungle moon of Tesca Nemerosa.
Got this one on video tape. :smug:
For the intro? Because that music is very awesome.
It seems to be a slowed down and slightly remixed version of a Beethoven piece. 2:10.
Does anyone know the episode that Rico gets lost in space?
Oh man, I loved this cartoon as a kid. I even managed to find a DVD of the Pluto campaign at a flea market. The animation is quite dated by today's standards but I'll be damned if the action scenes aren't still amazing to watch.

If you read the interviews with the lead producers you'd find out that animators and modelers were dropping like flies.
Back in the 1990s or today?
Back in the 1990s or today?
Today :v: They didn't have physics to calculate and make their animation lives easier so they had to do everything by hand.
Aw, fuck me I forgot they said where they got the theme in the Klendathu Commentary. I suddenly forgot that different groups sample the same types of music sometimes. :F
I have a couple DVDs somewhere. [editline]19th April 2011[/editline] Woah what in the novel Johnny is Filipino. My name is Johnny and I'm Filipino :buddy:
I am pretty sure I can get a couple of episodes on DvD from a store close-by. Seems like a good buy.
I wonder what this series would be like if it got proper showing time for Tv back in the day?
Thanks for reminding me of this OP, started watching the first campaign a few days ago :D
I found this petition to finish the last three episodes of the series. But it seems old... http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/final-three-episodes-of-roughnecks-starship-troopers-chronicles.html
Awww yeah I remember watching this early in the morning It was like I was watching those really cool Starcraft 1 cinematics except better and longer
The show has been over for many years now.
Yeah true, but I believe Sony still has the voice overs etc.
Don't you die on me bitch!
Wow I am surprised I remember seeing this.
