Any pictures of the tank and witch?
It's because the "bunch of pot-smoking college kids going to vacation in a cabin far removed from society, when they get terrorized by some malevolent force" is considered one of the most cliche and generic plot-themes in horror film history. Though I'm not sure which film does a better parody of it - this film, or Dale and Tucker Vs Evil, which, by the way, is a great film - it stars Wash from Firefly and Sock from Reaper (some of you may know him as the guy who took care of the chimps in the lab in The Rise of the Planet of the Apes, but I recognized him from Reaper.)
I recognize "Sock" from Breaker High, along with Ryan Gosling.
n
I belive they're your generic crazed murderers
is this movie any decent?? haven't seen it
Wait what? Was this a horror movie?
no it's a big middle finger to horror movies in a funny way, that makes it a good movie
I thought it was decent, I've watched it two times and it kept me entertained throughout.
no it's a big middle finger to horror movies in a funny way, that makes it a good movie
Haha what? It's not a middle finger, it's a love letter to horror films.
Haha what? It's not a middle finger, it's a love letter to horror films.
A middle finger to all the bad, torture porn slasher flicks.
How? [editline]29th August 2012[/editline] Just by being better and different to them??
It's like a "this is what horror movies are doing right/wrong, and things we'd like to see thrown in" movie.
It just makes fun of the classic formulas. That's literally all it's there for.
Yeah it's not having a serious go at cliched horror formulas, it's lovingly spoofing them. Seriously how do you not see the passion for horror oozing from this film?
I just saw this movie, I thought it was quite good; it was a nice spin on horror. I love how the Revers from Firefly made a brief appearance :v:
This came out on DVD and BluRay yesterday, just picked it up. Really awesome film.
Got the DVD. Probably going to watch it every waking second o my life now.
Holy shit what a fantastic movie this was. Really was quite "interesting"

The director is doing an AMA right now: http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/109ik5/hi_im_drew_goddard_director_of_the_cabin_in_the/ Didn't know they actually planned to make a L4D2 expansion taking place in the Cabin world.
Just got done watching this. Love this movie, though the ending was a bit underwhelming.
wait so valve let the the director fill some of the cubes up with valve creatures??? WHERE THEY AT
The scene where the camera zooms out and you see bunch of cubes filled with monsters. Boomer, Witch and Tank can be seen.

How did it take me so long to see this movie? It was absolutely brilliant from start to finish! I had the ending spoiled for me ages ago when I read a review, but it wasn't too bad, there were still tons of surprises. All in all it's already become one of my favourites. Which is weird because I never really liked Scream or Drag me to Hell, which kind of fit under the same genre.
So were the writers aware of SCP? cause i pretty much had that vibe from the elevator onwards.
