The conservative values of a 'man' do not apply today.
Everytime I look at prominent conservative men I'm disgusted. Cowards, womanizers, hypocrites, thieves and liars. Wearing diapers to escape Vietnam and than supporting wars they don't have to fight themselves, stealing millions, treating women like crap etc.

You need to follow the examples of Ron Swanson
i'm a pussy cumstain.
i'm a pussy cumstain.
You're starting to sound like my brain. Nothing good will come of that attitude.
cisgender with a dick or transgender with a vag
I just bought flowers and plants and put them on my dorm balcony. FUCK YEAH 20 POINTS TO MEN.
I just bought flowers and plants and put them on my dorm balcony. FUCK YEAH 20 POINTS TO MEN.
Your dorm has a balcony?
Your dorm has a balcony?
Yeah two stories, a kitchen, a bathroom, a living room, spiral stairs and a balcony, it's dope and ironically the cheapest dorm at the school (probably cause 4 people live in it). The balcony is only like 4x6.5'. We also stole a rush sign from these doucher frat bro's balcony on the second story and drew a picture of Heisenberg on it and put it on our balcony.
;42510374']It's stigma like OP's that prevent me from dying my hair. I mean shit I want to do it because I do. Except assblasters like this guy continually push this shit that it's unmanly or feminine and that's bad and buck up and act like you got a penis, go shoot a deer and get a wife and have 20 kids and bring home to bacon. I need a shed of powertools and a muscle car and if I don't have a hearty breakfast made for me by my submissive housewife then I'm a fag. I'm a productive member of society, fuck you. I want to dye my hair, I should be able to dye my hair without people like you proclaiming I socially castrated myself. That goes for wearing a hat and being skinny, too. Shit, who gives a fuck? "Confidence, honor, and dignity". What a joke. Get some real values.
Funny enough if you had confidence you would dye your hair and not give a fuck.
Funny enough if you had confidence you would dye your hair and not give a fuck.
I don't have as much confidence as I would like. Because I have to deal with people treating me differently or like shit when I do that sort of stuff. And then I get shit on because I'm not confident. well no fucking shit?

A man? Well you can go with the stereotypical pile of lies meme response. You can go with the brooding conservative outlook on men from someone who didn't nor shouldn't have to fit into. Or be that person looking for a conservative standpoint. However, I think today's young men don't have a proper role model to look up to today, we don't have a clear image of what makes a man a man. Women actually have it easy in this respect, they must be good if not better than a man and that makes you a proper woman. Too prove she is equal. How does a man prove he is equal to his peers when none of them truly know what being a man is and there is no clear definition. You can mention buzzwords like 'dignity', 'honor' and 'strength' which by themselves are good words to look up to but in the grand scheme have been sullied by men who used them to hold people down. You can use any amount of buzzwords as much as you want, most have been over used and sullied to a steep point of worthlessness. With the rest of our known world hitting a point of increasing equality, men are clumsily moving forward. We do not know what to do because there is no one to guide us. In a way, our best role model and best character of men in human society would be Guy Montag. We're lucid and we can think clearly, but we're so often lost and trying to make sense of this new world that we were never taught or we just discovered. We're to easy to sway and not easy enough, to summarize men and what it is to be a man is difficult because we've been on the top so long we never had to think for a moment how we would respond to being equal with women. We were so obsessed with power and what interested us that we never paused to take a look. We don't even know why we do half the things we do and or why we ask these kinds of questions, at the end of the day its because we don't have an answer. We need this answer though, we need something to organize behind because right now we're all waving in the wind and moronic fringe groups are grabbing us and using our fear to rally us.

Cultures across the world are so diverse now, and so many of them have so much difference that the standard of being a "man" all depends on which culture, and which sub-culture you are in or choose to be a part of. Military men, for example. They fight for their country and their family. Respect and Integrity are their core values, and for them especially. In short, there is no perfect definition of what a male should be and I think society is good like that. There are many different roles in modern society and allowing someone to follow their wants in order to choose a role in society allows for the things that might not otherwise be accomplished so easily if we did have a perfect definition of what a man should be. In my own opinion, what makes a man is someone who has his virtues in order. Someone generous, respectful, and has humility. Short of that, I don't think there are any characteristics a man should require of himself to feel that he is a man. However, I agree that the modern view on a typical male has been skewed vehemently in the past 60 years. Much has changed and even though I'm only 18 it's abundantly clear how much things really have shifted from that long ago.

How does a man prove he is equal to his peers when none of them truly know what being a man is and there is no clear definition.
so when you say "women have it easy" are you referring to in cultures like in the middle east where some women are killed by their families for being believed to have sexual tendencies or even interacting with other men? where not having a fully intact hymen (which is something that naturally wears down throughout life whether you're engaging in sex or not) makes you unclean? where most women need to undergo cosmetic surgery just to be acceptable as a wife? or are you referring to american culture, where our standards of beauty are based on heavily photoshopped images of models, and women's vulvas are expected to look like that of a prepubescent girl in order to be acceptable? where (like many countries in the world) rapists frequently get off the hook while female victims are often blamed for rape because they were "asking for it", where there's a double standard for women to both be pure and abstain from sex, and at the same time be sexy and attractive to men, in order to have any worth in our society? where 1 in 5 women have been raped or sexually assaulted (but that's not bad when you compare it to 60% of women in india who have experienced the same thing and never gotten justice for it). where men are given the idea that they're uncontrollable animals who can't resist an attractive woman and aren't to be responsible for their actions, while WOMEN are told that they are the ones who need to behave in a way not to be raped, and told that if they are raped it's a sign that they were behaving incorrectly. so tell me women are lucky.
Funny enough if you had confidence you would dye your hair and not give a fuck.
Not saying that you're doing this, but it's goddamn hard to have confidence when the usual way the issue is addressed is "maybe you wouldn't be such a fucking piece of shit if you had some self-confidence you goddam shitstain"
Our Lord Above; God. He doesnt just make men though he makes women too.

Man is only a word, a description. A set of boundaries and limits that creates a finite form. An idea. Why do we have to limit ourselves by fitting into a certain mold? Can't we be more than just... man? I live with the determination to surpass all boundaries and limits, to become something truly unfathomable. Maybe I'm crazy.
I can confirm that dressing elegant (ie black shirt, jeans and a pair of good boots, coupled with raybans and growing a 3 day beard) gets you a LOT more pussy than being dressed like a hobo.
Where did you get most from?
Where did you get most from?
the fact that not having an intact hymen is a sign that you've lost your virginity and most women don't have an intact hymen by the time they're ready to marry. not everyone gets the surgery, i don't know the statistics on it, but i do know that hymenoplasty is increasingly common especially in the middle east, and without it women have no way of proving their virginity to their husbands.
;42535950']What's wrong with not having confidence? Why is being whiny equated with being a "schoolgirl"? Why the fuck does confidence or being whiny have anything to do with being "a man"? Maybe if we were more inclusive and supportive of different people then we'd have more confident people?
Thank god someone finally gets it. Confidence doesn't come from nothing. You gotta have people backing you up, and it shouldn't matter if that dude has dyed his hair or not. That's petty shit that just makes you look like someone who's being whipped by socially-constructed notions of what is and what isn't manly.
Not everyone looks for justification for what they do in others. Although, if everyone was more accepting and supportive it would indeed help. But true confidence in my eyes is when you dont need justification from others. If you are confident in yourself you wont care what others think.

It's one thing to be confident and be with the norm, really anyone can do that if they put themselves up to it, but it's another to be confident in yourself and be ostracized or face negative consequences.
