Video games/animated films.
Your argument is invalid.
How can you see it working well with film? A large portion of film making technique is setting up shots, panning, forcing the viewer to see it from a perspective. Also, how would the background work. Would there be a background, or would there just be focus on the main subjects.
I can see it working for certain types of video games, but for all types? Also, is it practical at all? What is the advantage?
The only people who are rating him dumb are the people who don't understand what he's saying.
Why not a large cube of tightly packed clear LED's instead, no movement involved, effectively a 3D screen.

That's pretty smart except for making it not noticable enough to see the wires. And there aren't LED's that small.

Both points incorrect.

How could you hook a LED without a wire?
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the images are actually "projected" onto the floor of the CNN studio so that Wolf can actually talk to the person, you know, in a face to face. So it's not quite Star Wars just yet. Only after computers merge the video feeds together do you get a coherent hologram + person scenario
People watching it on TV see a hologram in the studio but IRL there's nothing there.

The wires can be infinitely small copper strands, barely visible, like a circuit board. And not LED's then, made up of the components inside a normal screen (I'm not sure if that's possible, don't call me out on it)
