One pixel too small, you can see the original sticker's edges
On the subject of prog, I somehow managed to squeeze 16 time signature changes (I think) out of a one minute forty second song.
I don't even know anymore.

I mainly listen to Pink Floyd but thanks to this thread I've started liking King Crimson.

So it shall be done.

[sp]Just kidding, just needed a place to post this. I didn't make it though, I found it on a T-Shirt website.[/sp]
Awesome I saw them on that tour too :buddy: where did you see them? I was at the Glasgow show
My parents also have most of Pink Floyd's stuff on vinyl.
Just adding to the list of progressive music bands worth checking out:
The Mars Volta
I also saw TMV last year. It was too fucking cool. It's a shame they played so much of Octahedron. Though at one point they played a 40 minute jam around Cygnus... Vismund Cygnus which was fucking perfect in every way.
Which one are you going to?
Sheffield I think.
same place as IRON MAIDEN

jelly
I only have 90125 permanent waves and 2112 on vinyl
still have all of that minus the pink floyd in mp3 though
Where did it come about?
Britain, mostly. The Beatles are often regarded as the catalyst, mostly due to their efforts with avant garde and eastern music. But the first true progressive rock album was from King Crimson, who somehow managed to write a jazz-metal song in the 60s. It was also fucking amazing:
Just in case you guys haven't heard them, allow me to recommend a very modern progressive band: Karnivool, a fantastic Australian band. Their album Sound Awake is my favourite album, out of any album, ever.

I saw them live. Great show.
I love how they use their own tuning, B F# B G B E
Oh yes, love prog.
I really love 80s Prog Rock.
Can't get enough of it actually... some really great stuff pulled through.

Yes they were pop sounding, but that's the beauty of it. It was "fun" music, always puts a smile on my face. It isn't a guilty pleasure or anything because I can't get enough of this era.
I'm of the opinion that Power Windows had the best mixing of any album ever. The sound is so crisp and clear! And Marathon was a prog song, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
omagod, just discovered what may be the greatest "random" find ever.

I always saw The Nice as a bridge between psychedelic rock and prog
I saw them live. Great show.
Karnivool are awesome
Robert Fripp has said there is no hope for a King Crimson reunion. So no more albums ever again. :smith:
Atleast we still have the classics!
