Progressive Rock - Psychadelic Galaxies in 7/4 Time

I think that's because I started hitting up Genesis seriously only today. But I've been listening to King Crimson for a while. The other day I learnt Red on guitar, but it all changes so much that you need lots of time to get through them.
Tis here!
Holy shit. Didn't know facepunch had a progressive music thread.
I listen a lot to Rick Wakeman, and as you all are probably prog-lovers, I seriously recommend you all to listen to the No Earthly Connection album. I recently discovered it, and it's an absolute must for any fan. Very obscure, but very fascinating. Gave me eargasms several times.
Then there's a couple of bands which I haven't seen mentioned (in the latest pages).
-Black Bonzo
-Flower Kings
-The Tangent
-Unitopia
-Samla Mammas Manna (Very whacky, listen to them on spotify, it's excellent 70ies prog)
-Rare Bird (have the best lyrics)
-Triumvirat
-Focus
-Pain of Salvation
-Ayreon (Prog-metal at its finest)
Anyone who listen to these? :P
By the sound of that list you'd be quite into Riverside. Triumvirat, Focus, Pain of Salvation and Ayreon are all amazing :respek:
God-damn I love HMV sales
I got "In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3" by Coheed and Cambria and a 2-disc Soft Machine compilation for £3 each
I also borrowed Jethro Tull's "Heavy Horses" from the library :neckbeard:

Guys go and liven up the Steve Wilson thread so it doesn't die :saddowns:

now go get all the amory wars comic books that go along with in keeping secrets

Shame more than half of all the god damned comics are out of print. I wanna read the Good Apollo I novel goddamn.
[sp]The Good Apollo graphic novel's being remade after In Keeping Secrets is done though, but without Christopher Shy's artwork bawwww[/sp]
yeah I just recently got into it
been listening to the music for too long without knowing what the fuck is going on
The storyline's kinda silly but at least it has a lot more depth than most concept-driven albums. Second Stage comic's apparently gonna get a reprinting too, so that's awesome.
I'll probably get round to reading the Year of the Black Rainbow novel at some point but it just seems like it would be a slog to get through.
Prize Fighter Inferno comic would be cool too
get back to work Claudio
line breaks
I'd rather he work on more coheed and cambria music though :v:

I really wish that Portnoy hadn't left. It was really A Dramatic Turn Of Events.

Can someone tell me why "Paranoid" and "Master of Reality" Register as Progressive in my Brain Genre Designator
Can someone tell me why "Paranoid" and "Master of Reality" Register as Progressive in my Brain Genre Designator
They're not too progressive, but they can sometimes have styles that "change" the direction of the album.
I would have thought the first Sabbath album was more progressive, Master of Reality isn't imo.

Sounds nice, but I think I preferred the sound on Magnification.
Still, should be a nice album.

This is going to be awesome.
A song from Dream Theater's new album:

Its very different from what I expected. Its pretty nice actually.
I just hope there won't be more stuff like the drums at 0:21.
It sounds SO out of place.
