I'm playing this song on bass and it's pretty damn fun. Creepy music video though.

EDIT: Turns out Heritage is going to have no growls and a very heavy 70's prog/jazz fusion influence. http://www.heavyblogisheavy.com/2011/06/06/new-opeth-record-to-feature-no-death-metal-or-harsh-vocals-heavily-influenced-by-70s-prog-rock/ Sounds very interesting, I'm even more psyched to hear how it sounds now; yet I'm still kind of sad that the metal's completely gone.
Good, fucking hate growls, could never get into them
Good, fucking hate growls, could never get into them
Opeth was what made me like growling. Mostly because Mikael is amazing at it. I hate alot of other people's growls but his are amazing. But still, Damnation is one of my favourite albums ever and their softer stuff is great. Although the album is apparently still aggressive in places, just in a different way. I'm really looking forward to seeing what they do with this.

Guys, give me THE best Opeth album. I still want to get into them.
Guys, give me THE best Opeth album. I still want to get into them.
Starter album: Still Life My favourite: Orchid Most accessible due to lack of death metal vocals: Damnation I personally would begin with Still Life then going onto Blackwater Park.
Still Life is the best, in my opinion. Ghost Reveries, too.
Still Life is just amazing in every single way
Wow... just noticed I had Deliverance on my hardrive and I haven't listened to it. Must do that. :woop:
I bought Deliverance on FP Manchester meet-up 2011 was the 2nd album I ever bought after Ok computer, which I Bought at the same time :v: [editline]18th June 2011[/editline] aka, My physical collection of music is 2 albums :v:
Holy shit same :respek:
Late but, September 14th? You cool.
I went to Newbury Comics and got Genesis - "Foxtrot", The Collectable King Crimson - Volume Three (Live at Shepherds Bush Empire, London 1996), and Alice Cooper - "Goes To Hell" for a total of $18.05. That's three checked off from my list. I also found Yes - "Yessongs" but that was $20, so I'm going to check another NC for it at a lower price. My dad said he has a Yes album somewhere anyway that he never listens to, so I'll look for that. Pretty good night. [editline].[/editline] Oh my, my brother asked if he could put my Genesis album on his iTunes and he'd let me rip the Yes CDs our uncle gave him a while ago. 12 Yes albums for me to put on my computer. CDs everywhere...piles in my room, piles in my brothers room, piles in the cellar, piles at my dad's shop. Now I just need a larger hard drive, and maybe an iPod Classic.

Ugh prog fans piss me off sometimes. There are all these idiots saying that the new Yes album is going to be bad, for no reason other than they're elitist pricks.
Has anyone ever heard NoSound? I just got two of their tracks, it has some prog tones in it for sure, they're very slow paced.

Listened to this today, was so good. Go get it.
I'm listening to The Whirlwind right now, and theres only 2-3 minutes left and a huge storm starts outside. Fitting.
I'm listening to The Whirlwind right now, and theres only 2-3 minutes left and a huge storm starts outside. Fitting.
God I love that song. Everyone I've shown it to has started out thinking "80 minutes? That's way to long for a song!" and ended up being absolutely speechless as to how amazing it is by the end.
Last prog song you listened to, go!
