Caravan have some really really shit lyrics
Standing on a golf course
Dressed in P.V.C.
I chanced upon a Golf Girl
Selling cups of tea
She asked me did I want one
Asked me with a grin
For three pence you can buy one
Full right to the brim
So of course I had to have one
In fact I ordered three
So I could watch the Golf Girl
Could see she fancied me
And later on the golf course
After drinking tea
It started raining golf balls
And she protected me
Her name was Pat
And we sat under a tree
She kissed me
We go for walks
In fine weather
All together
On the golf course
We talk in morse
Lucky the music is so good because seriously
I think the lyrics have somewhat of a quaint, british charm to them.

I think other lyrics from caravan have that quaint british charm
but that song just strikes me as nonsense
Welp in an effort to fight off sleep for whatever reason I decided to listen to music in bed with headphones. So far:
* Astronomy Domine (live, off Ummagumma) - Pink Floyd
* The Narrow Way (pts 1, 2, 3) - David Gilmour
* Autobahn album - Kraftwerk
* Radio-Activity album - Kraftwerk
God Kraftwerk's early shit is stunningly beautiful. I might call it a night now though.

Krautrock is awesome.
Faust and Can is your answer.

You like that first section of acoustic, yeah? Even when the vocals start up....
It's a variation/rip off of this.

Interesting. I still love Fly From Here. Especially Sad Night at the Airfield.

I listened to a bit of it. Quite enjoyable.
I don't think I can get into Moody Blues. It's just so, lame :v:
I liked Asia so I'm not averse to pretty poppy prog, but On the Threshold of a Dream is just pretty damn lame

Not a problem. Most critics are like that.

Yeah most of their stuff is kinda dumb sounding to me. Nights in White Satiin. of course is legendary, and very beautiful. That was before they decided to go all electronic.
Another song liked was "Isn't Life Strange". Of course all I have of them is my dad's stupid GREATEST HHITS CD so
Im going to get my Uncle the new Yes album, probably by torrenting because I don't have any cash right now.
Why? Because without him I wouldn't be a fan of prog rock.
Ant to make up for torrenting the album I plan to buy the LP witch is about $12 more than the CD.

Listen to "To Our Children's Children's Children". It's more folky/rocky than some of their other albums
Orgasm time! Steven wilson's site for his new album is now fully live including details about the album, listing a 23 minute progressive jazz piece and also containing excerpts of material! Its fucking amazing.

This is just amazing. This is going to be his best work to date. I can feel it in my gut. Everything I've heard so far is great.

Cool, I'll check that out when it's downloadable.
I still need to give his Insurgentes album a listen.

You're missing out, his solo stuff is easily his best work imo
Apart from maybe ghosts on magnetic tape or some of the 2000-era PT albums
well yeah, he's released shitloads in his career. Will take some time to get through that genius.
Oh. My. God.
And here I was thinking Steven Wilson couldn't possibly be any better.
Just... Holy shit.
This is going to be amazing.
this Insurgentes album is friggin' cool.

The drone influences are really awesome. Songs like Abandoner and Get All That You Deserve are really awesome.
I felt this kind of "shoegaze" atmosphere, it's really cool how he layers that sound.

Yeah, he gets such an interesting, awesome sound on that album.

I have to say, I agree with you. I can just feel that this is going to be something really, really special.

Track 2's guitar parts remind me of lark's tongue in aspic part II something chronic
Also postcards sounds lovely
i need to pick one of these camel albums, which one would you take?
Camel - Moonmadness
Camel - Breathless
Camel - Nude
Camel - I Can´t See your House from here
Camel - Single Factor
Camel - Mirage
Mirage
I got Moonmadness first. Great album
I borrowed Mirage, Moonmadness and The Snow Goose from my physics teacher.
They're all good, but Moonmadness was my favourite of the three
