Got a signed copy of Leftoverture from my dad for my 18th :smug:

But he was one of my top "cool" bassists. Up there with Colin Edwin.
Well guys, check what I just got as a birthday gift from my parents:
looks rad, got anything in it apart from CDs.
looks rad, got anything in it apart from CDs.
Well, theres a 93 page thing about them and their history, which is pretty cool. Otherwise nothing else.
Well guys, check what I just got as a birthday gift from my parents:
Holy shit me wants
It's a shame, but frankly what he did is bad for the band's image. I wouldn't be surprised if he was actually fired.
Wow, I just looked up his arrest and... armed robbery? Jesus Christ. I assumed it was something related to his past drug problems but... wow.
Just did a listen through of Lark's Tongue in Aspic part IV, so pretty much half of the ConstrucKtion of Light. It's amazing, seriously.
Yeah I like King Crimson in their later days. Even their "ProjeKcts" are nice listens, but I haven't heard their live work.
god fuck i love this EP more than i love my family
This is either psych, space or prog but I think it's awesome Liking it more than PF And this album I've been listening to as well itisawesome
yeah hawkwind are sublime.
I think that what I was heard was better than Pink Floyd by far
I think that what I was heard was better than Pink Floyd by far
I consider a large amount of Pink Floyd to be art rock as opposed to prog rock Yeah, their early stuff is definitely prog and they have some later suites like shine on and most of the Animals album but I would still consider them to be more inclined towards art rock.
I don't care about what genre I'm just saying I liked it better
Holy crap I just came across a perfect full band transcription of The Door by Neal Morse. I must now force my band to learn it. Even the crazy organ solos are perfect!
I think that what I was heard was better than Pink Floyd by far
Well you can't go better with Space Rock than Hawkwind.
So it seems.
Listening to their "in search of space" album. Superb and overlooked.
News! Another track + video from Steven Wilson's new album has been released here - http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/blog/2011/08/10/video-steven-wilsons-track-one Track one is on the second disc as far as I know and its quite lovely. It actually reminds me a bit of syd barrett which they also say in the article, so I could be right.

Well that was amazing...
I won't say its the best song he's ever done, because its not, but its so out there and strange that I just love it so much. That said I don't think the middle section is really that jarring, its just very dissonant and dark. plus the quality of the sound production in this one sends chills up my spine. I'm so glad about that, I wasn't a complete fan of the sound quality of his production in the Incident. Video and stuff is starting to remind me in a way of the riots going on at the moment for some reason - probably because he's in his backyard in england and suddenly it all catches fire. Here's another good article: http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/blog/2011/07/29/steven-wilson-owns-future Its all blu-ray apparently.
Goddamn. Loving Track One. The video is pretty amusing though "doopdedoo playin' my acoustic" "oh look, weird shit" *stares* "back to me acoustic doopdedoo"
Yeah the video just confused me.
Sorry to bump the thread, but I was walking through F.Y.E. at the mall today, and guess what I spotted... A new Yes album. New as in June 22, 2011. Needless to say I picked it up. It's the same producer as Big Generator and 90125, Trevor Horn (who was in the band for a while). Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman aren't on the album unfortunately, but they have Geoff Downs who played keyboards on Drama, and a young vocalist from a tribute band who sounds shockingly similar to Anderson, though he's clearly not forcing it. It's a 25-minute epic ala Close to the Edge, based, ironically, on a demo song Horn put together when he wanted to join the band in the 80s. I'm still near the beginning, but so far it's incredible. These guys are how old now? And they still sound just as good as they did in the 70s. [editline]14th August 2011[/editline] Oh my god I'm so incredibly late. Welp, let this be a lesson kiddies--read a thread before you post in it!
