I've got tickets to Mastodon in January and to Opeth in two weeks :smug:
Well, Devin Townsend's Deconstruction show was fucking insane. He brought a giant fibreglass cheeseburger with him. Attached to the ceiling. It took 3 months to build D:
The cheeseburger in question. He also had muppets of some of the guest vocalists singing along.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Frippertronics in that.
Frippertronics never fail.
Whoever it was that recommended this earlier; thank you, this is great Never heard a prog band like this use a female vocalist before, so it's really refreshing.
Never knew they worked together, that's superb.
It's featured on Robert Fripp's solo album Exposure where he got tonnes of guest vocalists like Peter Gabriel, Peter Hammill, and Daryl Hall from Hall and Oates
Syd Arthur
Update: Just got their single and EP on iTunes. Do they have anything else, or a full album coming out?? They're amazing!
It's featured on Robert Fripp's solo album Exposure where he got tonnes of guest vocalists like Peter Gabriel, Peter Hammill, and Daryl Hall from Hall and Oates
Nice, I probably listened to it and never realised that Peter Gabriel did collab on a track. I knew about the others though.
On the subject of PT, I find it kind of sad Voyage 34* is considered a compilation album and not an actual album by him, because it's a really awesome album and it probably wouldn't get as much regard as say, TSMS because of that reason. *woops
Yeah what's the deal with that? It's basically an outtakes album, not compilation.
On the subject of PT, I find it kind of sad Voyage 36 is considered a compilation album and not an actual album by him, because it's a really awesome album and it probably wouldn't get as much regard as say, TSMS because of that reason.
Its Voyage 34, actually. Also, I only really like the first phase. I think its amazing, but the rest is uninteresting.
More Pictures of Mastodon with awesome people:
Its Voyage 34, actually. Also, I only really like the first phase. I think its amazing, but the rest is uninteresting.
Not a surprise - voyage 34 first phase was the actual phase and the other stuff was just outtake compilation crap
Never knew they worked together, that's superb.
Robert Fripp did all the guitars on Peter Gabriel's first 2/3 albums :v:
Robert Fripp did all the guitars on Peter Gabriel's first 2/3 albums :v:
Not true, Paul Weller did guitar on a couple of tracks from Melt.
Robert Fripp did guitars for David Bowie also not every album but his krautrock inspired trilogy or whatever, I know he definitely did guitars on Heroes
Not true, Paul Weller did guitar on a couple of tracks from Melt.
Yeah, I knew he kinda phased himself out after one of the albums but couldn't remember which. He contributed a lot to Car and Scratch but not very much to Melt
Not true, Paul Weller did guitar on a couple of tracks from Melt.
Really? I would have never thought that.
Update: Just got their single and EP on iTunes. Do they have anything else, or a full album coming out?? They're amazing!
They're working on an album at the moment. Should be out at some point in the near future. Will post again in this thread when they do.
Listening through Space Revolver by The Flower Kings. I Am The Sun is amazing.
egg. EGG.
Indeed.
My fuck is full of brain
Imo, the best Canterbury Scene original album I've heard has been Land of the Grey and Pink by Caravan. It's really hard to find Caravan stuff at all, but I managed to snag their whole discography and I can safely say that after Waterloo Lily, they get pretty mediocre. If I Could Do It All Over Again, I'd Do It All Over You has their best song on it though - For Richard. All that said, Caravan and the New Symphonia is one of the best rock orchestras I have ever heard.
