Which one? I saw you at The Wall and you looked terrified :v:
Mastodon at the Manc. Academy, My Dad's not coming this time so I can chill the fuck out now
Listening to Fear of a Blank Planet makes me hate the world, which sounds horribly angsty but it's just such a pessimistic album
It's a good one but, and it does ring true a lot
Listening to Grace for Drowning currently. Holy shit
Last Time I looked, progarchives had named grace for drowning the best prog album in 35 years. I think there's been a backlash now, but its still no.47 in the best prog albums of all time not that prog archives is really a good source, the forum goers of that site are some of the most pretentious twats you'll ever meet
Grace for Drowning is good. Can't complain, if you like his style.
Feast your ears upon this, for I finally found a better quality version of King Crimson's playing at Fillmore East on youtube. This is the best version of schizoid man I have ever heard, and their best live performance I have ever heard from King Crimson. Giles is especially amped up on the drums in this one. This is why he is my favorite drummer of all time. Excuse me if I am late on this, but the only other version I can find is really shitty bootleg quality.
The main reason prog live recordings are mostly poor is because of the sound quality. Otherwise they'd be the things I'd hear more than the studio recordings.
Just bought In Absentia, Piper at the Gates of Dawn and Svartir Sandar. Today will be a good day.

Geddy's vocals are like death growls in the sense that you'll just have to wait for them to grow on you. Lots of prog vocalists sing pretty damn high (Jon Anderson, I'm looking at you), so by the time I got into Rush I had gotten used to high pitched vocals. Geddy is a pretty damn amazing singer, though. I can't comprehend how he can play his sick basslines and do his vocals all simultaneously, few people can even do them separately :v:. And when I saw them live on the time machine tour (:smug:), he even sounded just as good as he did 30 years ago. He must be like a higher being from an other plane of existence, or something.

Haven't listened to PFM in months. any other European prog that's good?
Triumvirat!
interesting name for a band, but what does it do!?
They're German and kinda synthy and also symphonic. They're one of the first prog rock bands I heard of because they were sampled in a hip-hop song.

Decided to get my prog on for the last few days, finally got round to listening to the Emerson Lake & Palmer album, Tarkus, Mirage and Moonmadness by Camel, then had some listens to Moving Pictures, 2112 and Farewell to Kings. Am damn impressed by everything. I'm a huge fan of the ELP eponymous album considering I thought Brain Salad Surgery was shit. Their earlier work like Tarkus is miles ahead. Next stop for me is Trilogy.
Got tickets for the second leg of the Grace for Drowning tour :3:
Asshole. It's still not coming to Australia as well. I'm going to have to get the DVD release of it.
Asshole. It's still not coming to Australia as well. I'm going to have to get the DVD release of it.
I was so happy when he announced a second tour, and then so so pissed when Australia wasn't included. Well atleast there's going to be a blu-ray.
Have any of you guys heard of Lazuli? They're a recent French prog band and they've certainly got some kickass songs up their sleeve:
Just picked up the Time Machine Tour DVD. Gonna watch it tonight. Should be awesome. EDIT: It was. I now see why Geddy Lee was voted the second best bassist of all time. Also the intro videos. Oh god, the intro videos.
I need some more prog. Gimme best prog of all time, I don't when or who it's by.
