When I was like 9-11 I only watched this show because fuck else was one, heck most of the shitty CN cartoons that were on I watched because I was too young to give a shit or see how bad it was, I just watched and didn't take much in, now as I'm older I see all the bad crap in this show.

I remember watching this as a kid, the only problem it ever really had in my eyes (I was a very early critical thinker, some... ok most 16 year olds still are incapable of it now) was that it was just not very funny. I enjoyed the concepts, the animation was just on par in comparison to most shows around (early on at least) and the opening was just wonderful because I loved Green Day at the time.
But the real problem was the humor, it didn't stick it just hit the wall, slowly slid down leaving slug trails as it went and then slumped loosely on the ground waiting to be picked back up and thrown again when someone tried to use the exact same joke in the next episode.

Are you seriously saying "This Tom and Jerry show" like you don't know what Tom and Jerry is or is that just bad reading? And that was common sound design for older cartoons anyway, it denoted a heavy impact and was pretty effective overall.

I think he was trying to refer to just that one particular iteration of Tom and Jerry. It's been made and remade so many times that there's plenty of both good stuff and horrid shit. The thing he hates probably falls under "horrid shit".
You gotta be specific in calling out the shitty iterations, or you risk looking like an ass for hating a prolific cartoon series. That's probably what he was trying to do, almost no one lives far enough under a rock to not know what Tom and Jerry is.
