Why the fuck would it need to move? Fuck that shit, floating apartments would be plenty satisfying.
guess what's better than a floating apartment
a ROAMING floating apartment
I like the concept, but everything is way too shiny. I bet after a day the whole place would be full of fingerprints. Kinda like playstation 3 :v:

When someone asks for your address, it'd be changing every second :v:
Finally we put Protoss technology to good use.
Pylon Hotel.
You must construct additional pylons.
So what happens when it flies into a storm?
does all the waste drop out the bottom onto unsuspecting citizen's heads
I reckon it needs to be achored to the ground in the first stages, like the Huxley Airships in Leviathan, so that it doesn't fly away/into anything full of badness.
also this shit on board would need to be fucking light as shit.

Thats how it's done with airplanes.
And what if it catches fire? Everyones fucked.
For the money a trip in this thing probably costs, they should atleast give a parachute

I guess all the furniture would be made of some sort of plastic.
Neat.
That is fucking sexy.
We require additional Aircruises.
The concept of this is fantastic. I'd pay good money to go on something like this.
Breitling Orbiter to you. Though it's not exactly luxurious accommodation.
Looks like a great place to sit down and use Microsoft tables! And not much else...
Also, if you've ever been to the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth

That has a glass floor, and it's pretty scary standing on that. Now imagine doing it 5 times higher.
I wonder how they'd cope with the wind

BioShock Infinite turned into reality!!!
But really, have this:

SPLENDORD
Oh the humanity!
I would rather be on a boat cruise since it would be cheaper, and you can enjoy the scenery. You can't exactly see much when you are thousands of feet in the air.

Wasn't the hydrogen, but the water-proofing paint and static or something like that.
Doesn't matter if the hydrogen makes the whole thing a huge bomb with a cockpit strapped to it
I would design my house to something like this.
What kind of capacity would something like that be able to hold?
A geodesic dome more-or-less one mile in diameter could carry an entire hotel full of thousands of people. No Hydrogen or Helium, just air, warmed by the people and such.
It would need to be insulated to prevent fast temperature changes (Day-and-night cycles would fuck this up).
EDIT: Not that I can check myself, this is all part of what Fuller calculated.
Why do these designs always look so damn sterile and clean?
First thing that came into mind when I read it is lifted by Hydrogen:

Didn't read page 2 :smith:
Why do these designs always look so damn sterile and clean?
Because it's the future!
Oh shit, wouldn't go in that Shit's scary imagine if it burst.

This looks like a guy shoving his hands in his pants.
One of these flies into a storm and everyone on board is fucked

I'm guessing they have some sort of sensible sollution for it.
Turbulence.
Fall off top floor.
OH FUCK.
"Lifted by hydrogen and powered by solar energy" This just doesn't seem like a good idea to me, i mean didn't we already go through this once?
