It just seems that most people without it claim that there's much more friction and thus it's less easier to masturbate without it.
If Wikipedia is correct, uncircumcised males have the mucosa, so it's wet (mucus I'd imagine). When the child is circumcised, the mucosa dries into regular skin.

Gotta disagree here, I can do it just fine, it's almost a different sensation than sex in a way, but i'm also a pleasure addict, so that probably helps the opinion.
Actually the only lube I've tried is Bad Dragon's lube, I'd say it works well but I have no idea how it compares to any other type of lube since I've just started trying it. Lube is pretty much a requirement anyway to use their ultra-tight-rip-your-penis-off toy Natasha.

Really from my experience you only cause damage by doing it too hard, or too frequently. I once did it kind of rough and actually ended up skinning myself a little. Stopped for a few days and stopped being so rough and I was fine.
