I drew up this diagram because I was a little confused and I want to make sure nobody else is.
thanks for my new avatar
If you really really mean what you say OP then why are you wasting your time on this forum? You are no better then people celebrity watching. You do this for entertainment, soo do they. This forum has no long term objective for the benefit of the human endeavour. We all do what we can and we all need to unwind somehow. We are all human and we all need to have fun, otherwise what's worth saving?
Space colonization is going to be a long and grueling process, have some patient boy.
I never said we shoulden't have entertainment and as i said i'm only 16 I still have much to learn before i can actually commit to helping humanity
Then go learn instead of wasting your time on FP complaining that nothing is being done.
I never said we shoulden't have entertainment and as i said i'm only 16 I still have much to learn before i can actually commit to helping humanity
You're an idiot/troll. Go away.
Small note-Most wars actually helped develop technology, sometimes even non lethal one.
Developing technology outside of war would have been more useful though, as most of the technology would have not been war related.
not troll...
We're not going anywhere until we have a reason. Fear of the Russians got us from zero to Moon in a decade, and we haven't gotten beyond LEO in the 40 years since. IMO it's going to take a worldwide climate shift or something equally endangering to all of humanity to force the investment and technological development needed for space colonization.
thats the problem we wait to long and it will be to late
So your theory is to stop every single thing we do and that every single person should focus on how to go to space. Nice.
never did say that I said I wish we would put a little more focus into space [editline]12:25PM[/editline] I don't want to live on this planet anymore The Earth is the cradle of the mind, but we cannot live forever in a cradle". - Konstantin E. Tsiolkovsky
This would be cool and all, but the money it would take to build something like this, then we start splicing our genes to have pyrokenesis and shit, and having big space suit people walking around with moon drills, what then?!??! It would really take alot of time and money, sometime we shouldn't use trying to survive on another planet
holy goddamn christ op are you retarded
OP wants to find god. [sp]he's not going to find anything.[/sp]
The biggest problem is that NO politicians in the last few decades have thought any length of time beyond their term. They have amazing ideas but don't put the resources into it, because it won't be profitable within their time in power. Short-term projects are good because they get instant recognition.
People still watch the History Channel?
I watch it for Pawn Stars but that's about it.
You cant profit from space industry, so its a money sink.
technologie.
I don't want to live on this planet anymore
But you've only been here for eight years
There is this wonderful little concept called... hedonism; humans are not robots we have needs and more often than not those needs take precedence over all other goals.
If the dark ages hadn't happened I'm willing to say that we would have had space travel as early as the 1800's. Blame the Christians.
Huh?
We still have TONS of time to get into space, and I would say we're making pretty damn good progress.
thanks for my new avatar
It's not free.
Gamma Ray bursts have been proven to be not a threat. Mega volcano happens every x-thausand years. Nuclear wars and deseases are the main threat but not very likely (hopefully) Anyway: Don't think about science going fast. It takes years for something to get reliable or even worth to be used in daily life. We are willing. We are exploring so much things and as deeper you look at the problems as more questions will be asked. It's not like "just build a damn rocket and shoot stuff to space". You have to worry about the engine, the rocket's maximum payload, the used materials etc etc etc. Every tiny task needs years or even decades before it becomes reliable. Especially with those complex problematics as space exploration. You are quite too naive (maybe because you are too young). If you want this going faster, study physics or engineering (better you do both) and apply at e.g. NASA. Then you see, how long it takes to fix a tiny little problem (can take weeks to months) and you finally will get how experimental-science works. Also: We already were in space btw. Since the 1960s. So space exploration already has begun.
It's not free.
name your price..im nice...how about a 5$ steam game? lol :smug: I have the strangest feeling this thread has really torn me apart from what you all say I need to better my grammar and my thinking process.
The last thing space needs is humanity's bad habits.
if people would stop worrying about which celebrity was in rehab we would already be in the stars...I fucking hate people sometime's. we sit here and pour billions of dollars a year into our personal entertainment, movies, games, toys, clubs, partys, alchohol, weed, cigars, cigarettes, drugs, war, music, TV, ETC. the list goes on and on it's our fault that we are so behind in our evolution of technologie. (etc...)
I don't think that many of the people who will be able to get us off of Earth give a shit about celebrities or parties or anything. Behind in our evolution of technology? What are you comparing us to? Besides, how do you know that we aren't making great leaps now? Have you done much research on our current stance on the space program? All of the missions in process? Also, I doubt the apocalypse is coming any time soon. It's incredibly unlikely that anythi...
Were having enough trouble with Space missions in this day and age.... I think it will be a loooong time, before we can actually expand into space.
