Yeah, had an English assignment where we could construct a model of the globe theater. I made a map of it in Hammer and did a video walk-through for the assignment. Another time, for a German assignment with a topic and execution of our choice (so long as it was German-y), I mapped out a section of the Berlin wall and made a big poster. It was also pretty cool.
For both, I used Gmod to record the videos/take snapshots, and to add some props.
Take note OP. ^
This guy actually does shit.
If you explain to the teacher that you did not create these models, and you give sources where they are due. Too many times have I seen pictures thrown together unsourced.
I don't act like a smug asshole and claim that I made the entire thing. I always state that I made it from a bunch of models I found from a game. And I wouldn't think that drawing a Buzz Lightyear for a picture needs sources.
I would easily think that these modelers were very well aware of the fact that they are releasing their works to a general public on the internet to be used and played in a game that can be modded in dozens of ways by various other groups.
Edit: I mean, if they want to hold onto their efforts so be it and let them put content locks on the mods and stuff watermarks on the models
We tried to use it for a Media assignment but couldn't get it to work so we used Unreal Tournament instead.

Ah the issue is resolved and the bureaucracy would like me to report back.
Thanks!

Please cite from now on every word, the origin, who created it or else I will sue you. The facepunch logo is enough to give credit in my opinion to the GMOD Community. All you're doing now is acting like a fool.
I got an 80 on a project I did in Garry's Mod. I'd post it but I lost it when I upgraded to Windows 7.
The poster is pretty cool but the other kids in your class probably think you are a fucking nerd though
I had to memorize the intro to cantebury tales a few years ago as well, and still know it. That shit doesn't leave your head.
I want to see more video projects.
I used it to create a model for human skin for my anatomy/physiology. Fuckin' thing sucked, but I still got an A.
Seriously. a PHX cube with flesh materials, ropes for almost fucking everything.
i made a trailer for moby dick in grade 7
not sure if i should post it
I've used halo 3 and TF2 to create machinimas for school projects, but not gmod yet.
Good way to show off your nerd.
Don't.
WOW WHY DID YOU PUT FACEPUNCH LOGOS ALL OVER YOUR SCHOOL WORK YOUR TEACHER MUST THINK YOU'RE DEVOID OF SOCIAL LIFEEEEEE
What if we don't have a nerd?
Id do this, but I am terrible at Garry's Mod.
No, but I do occasionally parody Gmod IRL for comic effect.
I've seen a decent amount of really shitty videos made in garrysmod submitted for projects.
I don't know what they got gradewise, but their videos were always god awful.
Kid made an awful video using PHX for an IT thing where they had to make a Glog about a subject they did. It wasn't even clear to anyone but me what the video was about.
Somehow he got a B
I'm impressed by what you guys have done. I used gmod as a physics simulator for a project once...that's about it.
Knights with chainsaws and guns....:wtc:
Here's a movie I made for my final cut class
a 30-second Documentary consisting of:
1. At least six different video clips.
2. Text supers using either FCP text or LiveType.
3. Music, sound effects, and narration.
sorry the quality is bad
don't know how to make it look good with youtube
mine is horrible fake ghost documentary

I love this class :smith:
a 30-second Music Video or Trailer:
1. At least six different video clips.
2. Use of at least three different transitions.
3. Make it interesting, creative and/or fun.
this video isn't gmod but has the suit song

I once made a short comic in Gmod for extra credit in art class. It got deleted a long time ago....
If you use lots of custom content for your video presentation, like maps and models it could be good, but you could just use Source Film Maker for alot better quality.
I made a shitty badly posed basketball game and snapped screenshots of it for Irish.
I got an A :)
Machinima is a totally legit way to do school projects that call for multimedia.
I can't find a picture but I did something called the Uber Watch, in Cs_office.
The battery pack was a giant smartphone/watch. I even made it out of cardboard.
I used Gmod for my English assignment about gerunds.
I did one way back about not doing drugs, did it in cs_office, it totally owned.
Is it this?

:v:
What programs did you use to make that?
I used registered Fraps to record and Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 to edit. I recorded my voices on Audacity.
the bureaucracy would like me to report back.
What?
i made a trailer for moby dick in grade 7

Moby means big.
The whale is a big dick.

who the fuck is this guy and why is he such a faggot
Sounds like a good idea. I'll bet there are many teachers who would approve of gmod projects, especially if you're in some sort of digital arts class.
