I've done a short video for a school project before, which required me to advertise a fictional product. It was very unoriginal (obvious rip-off of Powerthirst), but my teacher loved it anyway.

That's a good one
my opinion about school projects on Garry's Mod is now changed.
I did one once in grade 12, wasnt a vid though it was a bunch of gmod screenshots done in rp_richlandnight.
it was a Grade 12 religion class project and i choose to use Gmod to do it cause im too lazy to draw things :D.
I once did a physics project in Gmod. All I did was record some videos of basic physics interactions, worked out some equations that related to the appropriate physics, and submitted it. I got a 98 :D
Your image links fail hard. Nice poster though.
i used valve hammer for one of my school projects
I've done this once for my 12th grade physics project. We had to abandon the idea due to time constraints (As some of you know, I take a very long time to pose ragdolls to a reasonably nice looking state) and a lack of inspiration for what I could do.
As far as this model debate goes, that's not exactly fair to say that we do jack shit by using other people's models (You're not suggesting that we have to create our own models for these types of projects purely out of respect for the author, are you?). If someone released these resources, as long as Caboose gives credit where credit is due, then there would be no repercussions. Basically, just make mention that they aren't your creation; your teacher, and the actual creators will be appeased if you at least follow that common courtesy.
If it's a video, for example, it is common practice to do list the authors of the resources used in the credits.
If you're doing a screenshot, however, I wouldn't go so far as to list them in your project's Work Cited, but if you're presenting it, I would at least mention a disclaimer that you merely posed and edited the shot, and not designed the models, and then in the Work Cited include one for Garry's Mod and one for Pirates, Vikings and Knights II (This last part is confirmed, by the way. I just asked my English prof who happened to be next door)
Oh, I almost forgot this one. I also managed to do a Shakespeare project in GMod. Also not a screenshot - I made a map of the Globe Theatre, with a period-accurate stage, and just left it open on my laptop. Also scored pretty high.
I've done it, got me a 89 if I remember
I've done it, got me a 89 if I remember
mine got me a 89 also, i had to teach my teacher what gmod was though.
I used Garry's Mod to construct some scenery for our English Assignment. It is rather long but people seem to enjoy it.

I used GTA IV for the scenery during the news anchor scenes and Arma 2 for some as well.
and claiming it as your own is just being a lazy whore, it doesn't matter if nobody holds a lawsuit against you, you've still done jack shit.
Where the fuck did he claim, that it's his models, etc?
I did one for science class once and everyone really enjoyed it until the biggest nerd in class pointed me out saying it was garrysmod. Then asked me for my screen name, lamest moment in my high-school career. Although the video was incredibly shitty but I still made an 100 plus extra credit for creativity.
I used it for a presentation, went well ^^ :D Got a B
This was for a language arts project, where we had to take a character from the novel "The Killer Angels"(upon which the movie 'Gettysburg' is based), and put him in a different time, and show how he adapted.
I got 100% and my teacher described it as an 'acid trip.'

To jump straight to the action, go to 2:00
I did a poster for my middle school's reading program, I had my personal skin on it.
It was hung in the main lobby of the school along with my name for some reason being put under it in huge ass letters (Teacher's decision, not mine)
when I saw it I :smug:
I used gmod to make a model of the movents of the sun, earth, and moon.
To this day I dunno my grade or what happened with it.
I used Gmod to create an ident for a media class. Mine stood out as everyone else used plasticine. Got an A* for it.

I can remember wanting to use it to make a comic book for ap roject in my 7th grade history class. That was in 2006. Unfortunately, I procrastinated and I eneded up writing a paper instead. :(
My friend used Garry's Mod to do a school project. Took her hours but she managed to do it.
Some guy made a map for a book report.
Was neat
GMod earns me As in ind study art all the time.
I had to make a cafeteria for some french final exam. Yeah, don't ask.
I made it in Gmod and my group was impressed.
What a fucking waste of time.
I made a house and recorded it for a French project. I got an A even though my mapping was shit.
Sounds like a good idea, but I've never thought of that for any of my projects.
So, when you use other programs for school projects, it's not like you made powerpoint. It's just the medium you are using to express yourself in the project.
You have to build your own computer from scratch, including all the parts, then write your own OS and programs that you use.
You even need to mine the metal yourself, and make the plastic.
Also invent electricity.
I've made two for my film class in high school, back when I just started using GMOD.

My teacher and class hated the second 1. :[
[img_thumb]http://i55.tinypic.com/2h4gjv9.gif[/img_thumb] Great.
Fuck'n paint sucks
Haha, what was it supposed to be?
I try to but I never end up doing ot.
I used it to do a newton's laws project in science class once. Got a 75 because I forgot one of the laws in the windows movie maker file I sent him :frown:
I made a really shitty comic about how humans interact with the environment.
