Weird, I thought it would be a terrible movie, it never appealed to me. I'm amazed it's turning out to get positive reviews. I don't really get what it's about.
Who? I've been reading other reviews.
Yeah, why bother reading reviews from critics who are known for being impartial and honest when you can read the work of people whose always-positive "reviews" are quoted on the boxes of movies like "Vampires Suck"?
Armond White is the troll of the film critic community.
He said that the new Resident Evil movie should be "universally acclaimed as a visionary feat, superior to Inception and Avatar on every level."
No, I'm going to be "missing out" on an overhyped piece of shit that everyone will be embarrassed to have watched and raved about in 5 years when Facebook is replaced by the next flash-in-the-pan piece of shit social networking site.
you mad?
If critics and fanboys weren’t suckers for simplistic nihilism and high-pressure marketing, Afterlife would be universally acclaimed as a visionary feat, superior to Inception and Avatar on every level. Just look at how Anderson activates his canvas in the plane crash sequence. First, the shock of the crash is solarized in a wide shot, then he cuts to the interior where the imagery is frozen yet the camera pans left, moving through suspended time, characters and objects, all composed in perfect pop-art balance like a James Rosenquist panorama, and then the camera pivots—and in 3-D.
Clearly he is talking specifically about the cinematography and effects, not the intellectual content of the film.
Armond White always hate on good movies, so I bet this will be good.
Why the fuck is Anal Rapist so god damn mad? I've never met a bigger bitch, seriously it's ridiculous.
this is literally the stupidest concept for a movie i've ever heard. seriously what the fuck.
I agree but it might be good.
I've been looking forward to this movie since the first trailer. I've always liked movies about how shit we use today came together. The reviews just solidify my position to go see it.
I got to see it a week ago (the digital media club at my school got codes for an early screening from Columbia pictures), and it's actually a good movie.
Wow, it has gotten 13 100s on metacritic with a score of 97, at first I thought it looked kind of stupid but I think I have to see it now.
I found it slightly coincidential that they used a song called "creep" in a trailer for a film about social networking sites. Also the version of that song in the trailer made my scrotum shrivel up and die, because it was so shamelessly cheesy and tasteless.
I saw an early screening. All I have to say is that is a really good movie. 100%? I give it a 95%.

Pretty much

Clearly he's not completely overlooking shit that I don't even care about and giving a beautifully made modern film a bad review because of it.

P sure you're wrong
I saw the premier of this a week ago, it actually wasn't that bad.
It's a drama for sure, but it's entertaining. Easy to relate to for 18-24 year olds. You have to be in the mood for it.
My girlfriend laughed at the trailer a month ago, left the premier with nothing but praise.
I'm actually interested and cynical at the same time, I can't imagine this not being a gay premise, but it looks quite interesting.
Wow, only about 1/10 of the planet's population use it.
Nope, not overhyped at all.
...500 million people is nothing? Jesus...

NOT overlooking shit you DON'T care about?
So he IS paying attention to things you DO care about?
Sorry, I'm having trouble understanding what you're trying to say because of the double negatives.
~not completely~ overlooking shit I ~do not care~ about.
He's paying attention and doing good by things he doesn't really care for.
Still wicked busted English, bro.
Simply simplify!
Yeah I think I worded that post wrong lol
It looks like shit, it looks like something id be embarrassed to watch. Who makes a movie about a WEBISTE?
Technically it is mostly about how an anti-social asshole at Harvard got talked into making the website by some friends and then treated everyone he knew like a huge prick and made billions of dollars in the process.
It looks like shit, it looks like something id be embarrassed to watch. Who makes a movie about a WEBISTE?
Well, the same could be said about Operating Systems but Pirates of Silicon Valley is a great film, one of my favorites actually
They should make a movie about Farmville oh man that would be so awesome.
OMG just think about it you could play Farmville while you were watching Farmville how cool is that?
Nah, nothing interesting happens during Farmville except that kid spending $5000 on shit and the creator saying retail games are passé.
They made a movie about the origins of window wipers. It wasn't good, but the more you know!
At first I didn't really take it seriously, but after seeing the reviews I might check it out.
Also the version of that song in the trailer made my scrotum shrivel up and die, because it was so shamelessly cheesy and tasteless.
This made me say "what" out loud.
That version is awesome, how is it tasteless?
So tasteless.
I don't think you guys are understanding the movie right, this probably been posted already but it's David Fincher, AKA Fight Club, Se7en, The Game, Zodiac. I mean sure it's about Facebook but don't bash it just because "its about a website lol". You think Fincher picked up the directing rights because of that?
Anyway I plan on seeing this. Hopefully it's just as good as I expect it to be from Fincher as well as True Grit when that comes out.
Plus Aaron Sorkin, enough said.
