Great movie 10/10
Just got back from seeing it, it was amazing. [editline]07:53AM[/editline]
No, he was planning to donate anyway, and even wanted to donate anonymously so people wouldn't think that. The people he was donating to convinced him otherwise.
Oh
This movie was amazing, I walked into the theater expecting a great movie, instead I get a phenomenal movie. I highly recommend it. [editline]03:10AM[/editline]
My friend hated this movie. Said it was super boring and Mark was an unlikable asshole.
Wow, you're friends either have ADD or are unintelligent enough to not realize the greatness of this film and how deep it goes.
anyone by chance seen the movie? if so, please rate. Agree: Good Disagree: Not Worth It
anyone by chance seen the movie? if so, please rate. Agree: Good Disagree: Not Worth It
Just read the 15 or so posts above you, not that difficult.
I kinda do want to see this movie but I think it will be too easy to reference to the movie as fact. It portrays the Facebook story as a drugged up, action-filled type thing whereas most developers know coding something is just late nights and a lot of caffeine :P
I saw this last night and it was really good. Also, hating a movie just based on the premise and nothing else is just dumb. With a good script, good direction, and good acting you can make a great movie about anything. And this movie had all of those. Now I usually don't like to say this about something, but jump off the fucking bandwagon.
It portrays the Facebook story as a drugged up, action-filled type thing
But it doesn't. Blame the marketing. [editline]09:01AM[/editline] According to a friend it's portrayal of hacking is actually pretty accurate.

God david fincher is brilliant. this movie was pretty much perfect, the only thing wrong with it is that I couldn't really relate to any of the characters, and that it didn't feel as major a film as say, fight club. But the direction and script were perfect and the movie kept me interested until the very end.
Yeah back then it was easier to do. But these days it's a different story.
Because everyone's a critic, even the ones that shouldn't be
I just saw it. If you've seen Antitrust, don't bother with this one. it's the same thing without the climactic ending. [editline]09:33PM[/editline]
According to a friend it's portrayal of hacking is actually pretty accurate.
they got all the terminology right but they left a ton of holes. I assume to keep people interested, but they never went into any depth on it. I remember one specific example where he said something about getting all the pictures for facemash would be easy with a bit of "wget magic" but never even mentioned the shell script required to get this done.
In all honesty this looks fucking GREAT! PS: Really it does look good, because I went on youtube and looked it up.
Does anybody else think the guy who plays in this movie has the pussy-ish traits of Michael Cera with the face of Andy Samburg?

It's still an amazing movie regardless of them not mentioning using a shell script, wahhhhhh.
Seriously. The movie isn't even about hacking. [editline]05:16PM[/editline] I hope that a discussion about this movie arises in this thread, not just "is it good?" or "They don't know shit about hacking!"
So what? It's still an amazing movie regardless of them not mentioning using a shell script, wahhhhhh.
I never said that it sucked because of that. The entire thing just felt unfinished to me. [editline]10:35PM[/editline] like instead of just "wget magic", they could have said "a shell script and some wget magic" and just as many people would have understood it, just as many people would be left totally stumped by it, and it would have totally prevented me from being able to make that argument against the film.

MANY MANY MANY films portray hacking in worse ways than this, if anything you should be praising this film for staying true to real life.
jesse eisenburgs a horrible actor
jesse eisenburgs a horrible actor
Not really
jesse eisenburgs a horrible actor
Really? I thought he carried along the character he played perfectly.
I felt really bad for the Eduardo character, Mark is such a fucking douche.
jesse eisenburgs a horrible actor
I thought he was very good in this movie. He managed to keep this guy human, not an easy thing to do with a character like this. At no time did I feel like he was just imitating a condition(like D Hoffman in Rainman for example). I think the problem for him is that EVERYONE in this movie brought their A game. All the actors, even Justin Timberlake, knock it out of the park in their roles. It's easy for the leading actor to have his performance seem lesser in a situation like that. For instance, characters like those twins are the kind of people I find totally unlikeable. They are sports stars, rich kids, members of an elitist club, and not only attending a top uni but can get a sit down with the uni president PLUS they're sore losers...and yet, I LIKED them. I felt bad for them, how things worked out. Those actors really made me see how wronged they feel and care about how they feel. Why should I care about guys far wealthier than my entire family will ever be? The performances, that's why. For me this is one of those extremely rare movies where everything is top notch. This movie is everyone working at their creative peak, Fincher/Sorkin/Reznor/etc.
jesse eisenburgs a horrible actor
I don't normally care for him but I thought he did well in this movie.
Anyone saying Jesse Eisenberg wasn't good in this movie doesn't know acting He played the character fantastically Also the soundtrack for this movie is the bomb
Honestly, I don't give a shit about Facebook. Looks like pandering to me.
Honestly, I don't give a shit about Facebook. Looks like pandering to me.
Even though the entire movie is about facebook, It's presence isn't very large in it in a strange way, It's less about facebook and more about the people affected by the making of it. It really is a great movie, I think anyone intelligent enough should watch it.
