I think I was in quite a few shots, I'll share one later if they get put up. I still wore the same stuff, except I got rid of the suspenders as they were pissing me off. A few mates of mine we all wore tophats and fake rimmed glasses when entering but took them off when we got to our table. We looked boss.
Haha nice, yeah one friend came to our formal with a cane and a fedora, worked quite well actually.
Unreleated: Total War: My best general in years just took a Spanish cannon ball to the face. R.I.P Andres. Age 63. You become a drunk because there was no wars and you died a hero :(
I went to 3 formals. Smashed the d floor on all of them
Welp, back from my formal. Killed on the dance floor (:
bit early to be back from a formal?
didn't get back from my formal this year until 7pm the next day

The melbourne protest seems be getting chaotic.
The melbourne protest seems be getting chaotic.
remind me why occupy wall street is protesting in melbourne for that matter i saw a few protestors in coraki honestly
remind me why occupy wall street is protesting in melbourne for that matter i saw a few protestors in coraki honestly
because socialist alternative/alliance/allovertheplace likes their protests and rallies
remind me why occupy wall street is protesting in melbourne for that matter i saw a few protestors in coraki honestly
Why do you think it's spread all around the world? It's simply a movement for people who want true representation and power as the general populace, instead of the minority of people with the most wealth. [editline]22nd October 2011[/editline]
because socialist alternative/alliance/allovertheplace likes their protests and rallies
There are quite a few people there from Socialist Alternative but they really don't represent the protest. Plus the general assemblies they have daily have prevented them from taking over.
I'd be happy enough with a decent fucking prime ministerial candidate.
that awkward moment when you many of the gimps you know going to that / creators of the event (not all are gimpss)
Who? Jack? He may not have a great voice, but he organises heaps of gigs all year round and he's a pretty cool guy.
I'd be happy enough with a decent fucking prime ministerial candidate.
good luck with that (let me know when it happens)
So I was on the Apple website and they've got a feed running letters that people have sent in,
History will look back on this sad day when one of the greatest creative and technical minds in our lifetimes was lost. He was our modern day equivalent to Leonardo Da Vinci, Sir Issac Newton, Albert Einstein, and the like. He was a visionary that had the amazing ability to breath life into his ideas. He believed so passionately in his work that his creativity became both seductive and infectious. I loved that like any artist his work was never done and that he constantly challenged himself and his colleagues to grow. He demanded nothing but the best and he delivered what he promised. He leaves behind an awesome legacy, one that the world will not soon forget. Our prayers and thoughts are with the Jobs and Apple families that he leaves behind. Know Mr. Jobs that you will be missed.
idontwanttoliveonthisplanetanymore.
He was the co-founder of a popular computer/electronics company, I don't get all the love apart from giving first world countries something to browse facebook in front of your friends with
He really didn't even do much, he was just good at marketing and entrepreneurship. He vowed to take down Android for 'stealing' their IP but then acted as if Apple had discovered the touch screen and the idea of apps when smartphones before the iPhone were doing the same thing. Not to mention his complete lack of any philanthropic investments. Sure it's sad that he died for those around him and he did do a lot for the world of mobile technology but fucking hell, it's so ridiculous how sad people are acting. My Facebook blew up with "RIP" posts on the day it happened, when 98% of those people really couldn't give two shits about him. Then not even a week later Dennis Ritchie, creator of the C language and Unix dies and not one person even notices. /rant
Why would anyone know what C Language and Unix are? They're not commodified.
Somone made a status update on facebook defending what the police did when they went in and broke up the Occupy Melbourne. About 10 comments down i see this Shane : What the Fuck is capitalism anyway who cares Emma: I heard on the radio while it was going on that some of them were throwing urine on the police, yuck! They are just doing their jobs (at least they have jobs) Mitchy: Love it goodo. These people only really care about themselves and their own selfish plights. So many more bigger issues in the world than this. And if these protesters think its so corrupt and all that why don't they go hang out in some third world countries get a clue on what really happens in the world.see some real corruption some real persecution they'd beg to come back to this country that gives them so much. ignorant people
Why would anyone know what C Language and Unix are? They're not commodified.
Almost every piece of modern software is written in a language that stems from C. The majority of video games are in C++, for example. Pretty sure Mac OSX has roots in a Unix system as well. I don't expect any of my peers to be making "RIP Dennis Ritchie" statuses or anything, it's just ridiculous that the death of a man who has arguably made a MUCH more significant contribution to modern technology goes by completely unnoticed, whilst every newspaper, radio, and important figure in the world broadcasts their condolences for a man that didn't even write code himself and made his wealth pushing around his subordinates and ruthlessly crushing his competitors.
Are they back burning up the mountains or is it an actual fire?
Why would anyone know what C Language and Unix are? They're not commodified.
of course not, he hasn't given you a shiny, affordable computer for your pocket but without his innovations, unix, linux, windows, and most of the computer based technologies we take for granted today would have come together completely differently (if at all) without his presence society praises the wrong innovators
Back-burning I believe, my room stinks of forest fire. Also drove by Martin Place today, the trotskyites were out waving their red flags
Back-burning I believe, my room stinks of forest fire. Also drove by Martin Place today, the trotskyites were out waving their red flags
They should send in the riot squad, be good for a laugh.
I can imagine many inflamed 'revolutionaries' making angry manifestos if that happens
I support the people who are now holding a separate protest against the police brutality that was occurring yesterday (I was actually kind of shocked at how quickly they resorted to punching and beating protesters) but as a whole the Australian wing of the protests is kind of misguided and uneducated.
Oh I don't mind what they are doing but the majority of Australians are anti-communism so they are isolating quite a lot of people who would agree with the occupy protests by being so black and white. The problem is they are too partisan and I'd like to see them take a moderate approach rather than 'smash the banks: install glorious regime' (I am aware only a minority of them are communists and socialists but still, protest what the protest is about, not what political system you'd like to install instead)
