Out of curiosity (if you remember) what questions did they ask you?
At the interview? It was a group interview today, so it's probably different than what you'd expect with a one-on-one interview. The woman interviewing us basically just went around the table asking us to all introduce ourselves, then after that we did some group activities. First activity was about what we think is good about Coles and what they could change to improve customer service. For the second activity we got a sheet with 8 different scenarios on it, and we had to list in descending order which scenarios we thought needed attending to first. Then once we did it alone, we had to collaborate as a group and find the common answers and note them down. Then after that we just had a little talk, filled out a form (names, available hours, preferred stores to work at, etc). After all of these group interviews they're going to pick 10 people (32 applied in total, and 4 out of 10 didn't turn up to our group interview, so it's 10 out of 28 candidates as of now). Those 10 successful people will then be sent to be interviews individually one-on-one, and if they're successful, they'll be hired (there are exactly 10 positions available at the store, so in theory everyone who 'passes' the group interviews can get hired).
I think my group interview at Coles today went really well. The only thing that worries me is the fact that I accidentally stole the pen I was given to fill in forms - nothing major, hopefully they aren't too anal about it! There are 10 positions available, and 30 candidates, and I fuckin' rule, so I'm pretty confident about getting a place. On the way home I also got a phone call from Woolworths in regards to the Dick Smith position I applied for, so now I have an interview with them TOO (this coming Friday). Hoping I get BOTH jobs. Would be good to save up some serious $$$ over the holiday.
For the Dick Smith job, consider talking about Offering a complete solution to the customer somewhere in the interview. i.e. Offering a HDMI/COAX cable with a TV, or SD Card with a camera That's the one piece of advice I took into my interview last year and I'd say helped me get the job at Dickies. We're pretty anal on Attachment rates (or "complete solutions"), granted it's not the one thing they look for but it'll definitely help out for the interview. But good luck with the interview though.
I turned myself into a slave for my job. dosh, dosh everywhere though.

I've been having so much trouble recently getting ALL digital channels on my TV - it's making me want to kill somebody. Whenever the cable is looped over itself I lose like 4 channels. I've tried raiding all of our misc. cabling boxes for more coax, but it's all male on one end, and female on the other (I need it to be male on both ends).

That or get yourself a female to male adaptor for like $3.00

I'm refusing to do the latter because I KNOW we have a fucking box of adapters around the house/garage somewhere. Problem is I can't find it.
onto a more important topic just made a rippa of a status update on facebook.
Fucking hell. All of the adapters we have are for F connectors, not PAL connectors.

I told my manager that after Monday I can work any time. The evil smile she gave me as she said "You shouldn't have told me that." Made my skin crawl.

Contag is the absolute worst about stealing pens; seriously, we get a new one in our household every time we go out. I don't even know where he squirrels them all away; I certainly can't find them. Anyhow, I doubt it'll affect how you were. Glad to hear you did well, though! [editline]3rd November 2011[/editline] Can't wait for exams to be over. brb beach house for a month.
Just finished my last exam then, best feeling ever.

I can hear my old school bell from here, it wakes me up ... at 11 o'clock
It's my friend's birthday. And she has an exam and an oral presentation. I feel sorry for her.
I can hear my old school bell from here, it wakes me up ... at 11 o'clock
I live like... maybe... 80 metres from my old school (if not less)? Always sleep through all of the bells! Then again, the 'bells' at my old school were just... music.

Now it's hell though. The school has an automated system that plays a song each morning and lunch time. I wouldn't mind, except the principal doesn't know how to change the song, so every morning and lunch i get to enjoy this song:
Listening to that on repeat would be torture, poor kids
