You know that mostly everyone is from melbourne because when someone says that melbourne is the best state it gets 7 agrees and 2 disagrees.

I agree, melbourne should be its own state.

But we were voted most livable city
dont point out my mistakes its rude
adelaide is the best country
Melbourne's probably the overall best out of them all.
Except our bloody urban growth is merging with satellite cities.
Brisbane and sydney are probably next.
adelaide is the best country
adelaide is the Tuvalu of cities
it's boring, no one cares about it and the world is waiting for it sink into the ocean forever

Queensland is 10x better, we don't have bipolar weather and beaches you can actually use for more than 2 weeks a year
There's a reason schoolies is hosted here

I remember there was a site posted here that had really cheap school/uni books, does anyone still have the link?

My suburb got cut loose from the city of Yarra so I'm in the Batman area now. Not complaining.
And with the most liveable city thing, it turns out my old politics teacher was the dude working for The Economist that put in Melbourne's votes.

It's hosted there because all you have is your weather and half the time your weather is useless and humid. Also lol schoolies.
its only humid away from the beach after a lot of rain
[editline]1st December 2011[/editline]
what does victoria have that melbourne doesn't
man tuesday was disgusting. humid as fuck and gross.
One thing I do notice about Lara, in Geelong, is that when I go there is that it gets hotter than Queensland and even more humid after the rain
pui but der melburn is der betta than der n-e otter city in ausfailiar (:
Queensland is 10x better, we don't have bipolar weather and beaches
haha oh wow
Had to drive all the way to Naree Warren from the western suburbs today, just to buy a new phone.
The only Dick Smith's store in central Victoria that had the HTC Incredible S in stock and not back ordered.
is it any good?
I've managed to resist buying a smartphone after they got popular
getting harder erry day
Have to unlock it first (Locked to Optus). And it's not charged.
But it looks good, with a nice screen that isn't wasting space like the iPhones.
I looked up and theres a massive spider on the wall looking at me.

Such is life in the Spiders' Republic of Australia.
Hana how big is the screen? I've got the Samsung Galaxy S II and it's the first time I've been able to watch a film on a handheld device without my eyes bleeding.
Comparing the entirety of Queensland to just the city of Melbourne isn't an appropriate comparison. Compare Melbourne to Brisbane, or Queensland to Victoria (I will be doing the latter):
Queensland is 10x better, we don't have bipolar weather
Untrue.
Melbourne has bipolar weather for sure, but it isn't necessarily a bad thing. Victoria's weather isn't so bipolar if you live outside of Melbourne, and it's a lot milder than Queensland.
beaches you can actually use for more than 2 weeks a year
Have you heard of the Great Ocean Road? Mornington Peninsula?
True, Melbourne doesn't have good beaches per se, but then neither does Brisbane, really, because it's not on either of Queensland's coasts. I have two beach houses on separate sides of the peninsula, and I get amazing weather and beaches I can swim at both anytime I go to either one.

lol are you high.
Have you seen the type of behaviour people on Schoolies tend to exhibit? There's definitely a reason.
And are you seriously going to say Schoolies is a postive, like really?
Here's a newsflash: not everyone likes blistering hot, humid weather, or going to a beach everyday (or the culture that living beachfront comes with). Moreover, there is absolutely more to living in a state than warm weather, and a nice beach - like, say, the people, or the cultural attitudes. You have a lot to celebrate about Queensland, but there's a lot of things to be ashamed of, too.
Having said that, some parts of Queensland are basically my idea of paradise, and I plan on moving up there from Melbourne in a few years. But, unlike you, I can recognize that that's just my opinion, and other people don't want what I want.
I didn't say anything about the behaviour of schoolies, surfers is a shithole 100% of the time, but the weather on the coast in summer is usually hot enough for the beach but not too hot to go outside and is fairly predictable.
[editline]3rd December 2011[/editline]
We used to fly into Avalon all the time before Granny died becasue it was closer to where our relatives lived than Melbourne, and in summer it gets hotter for longer periods of time, but it's defitely not as humid. We get afternoon storms in summer which makes it humid but they are fairly predictable
That post wasn't even a serious thing, let's not argue about the weather

Forget that schoolies also can stay in their own state. Like Phillip Island is full of them. I went to Lorne the other day and they all were checking out Sltungle when I was right behind him.
Also, went pub-crawling with Mistermooth and Sltungle.
If only we had more money, I didn't have to drive and work in the morning.

I REALLY think you misread that, to be honest.
I didn't say anything about the behaviour of schoolies
No, but you brought it up as something that was relevant (which I don't believe it is). Plenty of people do Schoolies in other areas (like in Lorne, or even overseas); plenty of people think Schoolies is a waste of time and eschew it altogether (such as myself).

Did you even read my post? That, in and of itself, does not make Queensland 'the best state in all of Australia' or whateverthefuck you're even arguing. I know a veritable shittonne of people who think the beach is more or less their idea of hell.

Aha, I actually like it when people do that to Contag. It makes me feel like my market value is higher.
Forgot to mention it last week, but on the way home from trivia night at the Queensberry I accidentally Glaswegian kissed a friend of mine while trying to demonstrate HOW to give someone a Glaswegian kiss. For some bizarre reason he decided to lean inwards while I was thrusting my forehead towards him and my forehead and his nose connected. Luckily it wasn't major.
At least now he knows how to get the drop on any cunt who decides to try to start shit up close and personal. Scottish fighting tactics: a lot of headbutting, and kicking while on the ground.
Wish I could be a ~tough cunt~ like you, sltungle.

It's not hard - just be Scottish.
... oh, I guess once you've been born and your genetics and heritage are set it is kinda hard.
This picture encompasses all I know of Scotland
