[editline]20th June 2011[/editline]
I'll have to keep all this in mind when I move there next month
[editline]20th June 2011[/editline]

The beloved hook turn, hated by so many people. Except me, I did one on my L's and it wasn't that bad. Mum was a bit freaked out when I did it though.
ha thats funny

international standards require you to indicate left (or right if they drive on the right side of the road) before exiting the roundabout. so, you're going to the right, which is the third exit on a four direction roundabout:
you put your right indicator on, and when you go past the second exit, you flip your left indicator on.
every state requires this by law except victoria

6. You must indicate a left turn just before your exit unless it is not practical to do so.[/QUOTE]
I know that. I was just told that New Zealanders were taught to indicate left when they reached the roundabout, followed by whatever direction they intended to turn. So if they were going to go right at the roundabout, they'd get to it, indicate left as they turned into the roundabout, then indicate right as they went around.
One of our trees in the front yard fell over today due to the wind, crushing the fence there. Now the tree right next to it just fell as well.
Everything is dangerous in Australia.

But on the upside the falling trees took out a family of drop bears!
I liked them. They kept the burglars away

I've never done it. I think that seems kind of pointless. Indicating so much in roundabouts.
I think people need to stick to their side of the road first.

its good because it makes it safer for people entering the roundabout. it is annoying having to do it, but it's worth it

I heard it from one of my parents. Pretty sure she said that one of her (kiwi) friends does it but her friend might just be a stupid driver.

All the Melbourne after parties are on wed Thurs?
Woo! Had my last exam today, so relieved.
Also, they were selling $8 paintball tickets at Melbourne Central today (that includes entry, all of the equipment, etc). Free 300 paintballs for each player too.
Would have bought some but was out of money.

I know it fucking sucks. I can't go to the RMIT vs. Melbourne shots battle because I have a linguistics exam on Friday. Fuck it's dumb.

It was really windy and there was snow right near the bottom of the mountain. 2 wheel drives had to put chains on right down the bottom of the mountain.
It got to -3 degrees there.
And the wind made the snow into projectiles and they stung.
But there weren't many people there, being a Tuesday and all. It was the first time I used my new board and bindings.
