Wow, I'm 19 now. Happy birthday to me. Hope to go ice skating at Docklands tomorrow. If I'm not dead on my feet.
Wow, I'm 19 now. Happy birthday to me. Hope to go ice skating at Docklands tomorrow. If I'm not dead on my feet.
I've lived in docklands for two years, and I've never been. Tell us how it goes.
for me its more clutching the wall for my life rather than skating I don't go anymore...
Whats everyone's opinions on the new carbon tax?
I've lived in docklands for two years, and I've never been. Tell us how it goes.
My mum went and suggested that my brother, sltungle, herself and I go ice skating this week. I asked for Tuesday and she said we will see. A bit after she asked suddenly asked me, "You want to go because it's your birthday?" She had forgotten that my birthday was Tuesday.
Whats everyone's opinions on the new carbon tax?
why not? it's being covered by tax cuts and other benefits
I'd rather there wasn't any compensation to the companies but you can't have everything
I'd rather there wasn't any compensation to the companies but you can't have everything
there is no compensation to the big polluter companies?
I'd rather the companies didn't pass on the costs to consumers, but that's not how the system works.
If they're being given increased costs, they have to make up for that somehow. It's just stupid to expect them to take a hit like that and carry on as if nothing happened. The best we can do is skip the cash down the line a bit and make that increase in costs balanced out by more consumer cash.

[editline]12th July 2011[/editline] Also, as a taxpayer I'm expected to "take a hit like that and carry on as if nothing happened.", why should different rules apply?
It's just stupid to expect them to take a hit like that and carry on as if nothing happened.
What should you expect them to do? It's basically a reducible GST. Reduce pollution pay less tax. At least this means they won't increase the GST. [editline]12th July 2011[/editline]
there is a point to it not just to steal extra monies under the blanket excuse of tax
except all revenue raised from the policy must go back into: providing benefits for households due to the impact of the tax creating environmentally friendly jobs research
that's implied
there is no compensation to the big polluter companies?
Even better
I'm pretty happy with the new carbon tax, even though our family falls out of the compensation bracket, high income brackets got wayyyy to many tax breaks during the Howard years.
All I'm seeing on the news; "CARBON TAX CARBON TAX CARBON TAX - DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA". "NEWS OF THE WORLD! OH EM GEE ITS SHUTTING DOWN LETS REPLAY IT EVERY 10 MINUTES" [editline]12th July 2011[/editline] Im gonna ring up hoyts about the midnight release of deathly hallows part 2 in 2d. Good thing is that everyone goes for the 3D bullshit. good ol' 2d is where it's at
Yeah I'm seeing in in 2D rather than 3D, it's not worth the extra $5 bucks
I don't know why but I can't get into the movie properly with 3D, I focus too much on the 3D, it's been a while since I've actually seen a movie in 2D
probably cause 3d movies are a fuckload darker and put strain on your eyes and brain trying to focus on multiple points at once
3D is so over rated these days.
well today was productive (lies)
So i'm moving from a flat with a million people to my own house on the 30th (Mornington) and I need to sort out internet. Best ISP? Preferably with value for money in regards to download caps. I've been looking at TPG ($60 a month for unlimited, full speed? That'd be around $250 a month back in NZ), but we have them here at the place im living currently and the quality is iffy at best... speed is inconsistent and often the internet will just spit the dummy and not work for a few days.
i use tpg. have since 2002 (i think earlier). rarely had a problem with the service, and if you know your tech terms, adsl technology, you can talk to the support guys and get to the bottom of a problem quickly. put the new address in here: http://www.tpg.com.au/maps/ gives you a good idea of the throughput of people within 100m of you. apartment buildings are normally shocking for adsl connections.
Just finished working the midnight session for Harry Potter. I'm no big fan of the movies, but sneaking in and catching the battle scenes was awesome.
just checking up on how emma watson is coming along
