Footscray is fucking horrifying.
Growing up in Williamstown I learnt that people were friendly and nice.
First time in Footscary alone I witness a drug deal, a woman spat right next to me and an old man sparked up a nice conversation about things I do not wish to discuss.
Oh god yeah. My favourite game to play on the train is, "spot who's gonna get off at Footscray." It's surprisingly easy to guess who'll be getting off.

If you put jedi or pastafarian they don't count it
HSC Trials start tomorrow for me, I am truly fucked.

Yep, IIRC they just say you said 'No answer'.

You will soon realise it's all bullshit and none of it matters.
This is coming from the guy who got 67.8 as an enter score, fuck yea, loved doing folio subjects.

Sign up for special entry stuff, it's surprisingly easy. I got into an 89.00 course with a 86.50.

I've got International on at like 3.15 on Tuesday in John Medley.

funny, i did shit, and i got into a great course.
its weird how people still have this idea that if you do shit in school you'll never be able to go to uni.
I can't get into university without decent marks.
good to see they're still indoctrinating this inaccurate horseshit in high schools
I can't get into university without decent marks.
What's 'decent'? What do you need to get, and what do you think you'll get?

Oh, we're at 4.15 in John Medley. Ha.

There are definitely ways around it. But it's going to be difficult if you get an ENTER/ATAR of, like, nine (which I believe somebody did. They were high at all of their exams, came out thinking they did amazingly, turned out all they did was write their name over and over).
good to see they're still indoctrinating this inaccurate horseshit in high schools
the better you do, the better uni you can get into.
of course this means nothing about success after uni
that's not the point I'm trying to make
yeah 12 is not the endgame, make or break like they make it seem
they should explain that all you basically need is to be accepted by a uni
once accepted, providing your grades are satisfactory you are freely able to move around providing you can apply yourself
[editline]10th August 2011[/editline]
hey doggun, just curious , what'd ya get for an ENTER
it is make or break. if you want to go to melbourne uni for example, (for whatever reason) you need to get a good enter score. good luck transferring from VU arts into Melb Arts, even if you're getting all HDs.
it's not as easy as people say, but it's not as hard.
as for my enter score. eeeeeeeh, i got good enough. i didn't study except for the day before the exam.
eh I'm too lazy to do uni
that's the spirit
the better you do, the better uni you can get into.

Not strictly true.

I know people at Melbourne Uni doing arts who got in the range of 70s.
[editline]10th August 2011[/editline]
If you get into LaTrobe Arts, even if you fuck up your first year, it's easy enough to transfer into Melbourne Uni.
Not strictly true.
how is that not true in any way?
I know people at Melbourne Uni doing arts who got in the range of 70s.
it's not impossible, but it's no easy task. better to do well in year 12.
how is that not true in any way?
It's true, sure, but it's not the whole truth. As we've established, you don't necessarily need to get a great ENTER to get into the most difficult university.
it's not impossible, but it's no easy task. better to do well in year 12.
Do you go to uni (I assume not, but just checking)? I'm actually finding that university is much easier for me than year 12 was. Plenty of people who don't do well in their VCE thrive in university, for various reasons. The structure is different, which suits some people more. They might enjoy the subjects they're taking more, because the scope of VCE subjects is limited. They might find that the work they're doing suits them. All of those things can mean that a person who was routinely receiving Cs or Bs in high school gets first class honours in university (and are thus able to transfer into a more prestigious uni after their first year).

lol, good luck getting into law at monash with a shit enter or good luck getting into melbourne with anything below 90.

i'm guessing you're in first year? yes, I go to uni. if you think that uni is easier than year 12, you have to be first year. if you're doing anything but first year and still think that, you're doing it wrong.
seriously, i've never been given so much work in 3 weeks.
ive been required to study more work in 3 weeks than in all of year 12.
lol, good luck getting into law at monash with a shit enter or good luck getting into melbourne with anything below 90.
I got into Melbourne with an ENTER of less than 90. So did mlisen (I think, anyhow). Also, no one goes into law school straight from VCE.
Edit: Yep
Sign up for special entry stuff, it's surprisingly easy. I got into an 89.00 course with a 86.50
Also, I got into Melbourne in the first round offers, not the second ones.

Wait, what are you studying?
I'm talking about people who transfer after their first year, so how difficult second year is doesn't really matter anyhow.

nah it's not
what's good enough? got your first preference?
Why won't ya tell me the number if you understand its insignificance
I got into Melbourne with an ENTER of less than 90. So did mlisen (I think, anyhow). Also, no one goes into law school straight from VCE.
Melbourne is the only victorian uni that does not accept people straight into law. as for getting in with under 90, what course? environmental science or something?
Wait, what are you studying?

i'm studying commerce / business based course at monash.
don't forget if first year is easy, everyone else is going to do well too. once again, it's not as easy as you think. it's 100 students competing for 3 positions. you've either got to be the creme de la creme or just very lucky. particularity if you want to get into melbourne.
[editline]10th August 2011[/editline]
nah it's not
agree to disagree. vce is not a good system regardless.
what's good enough? got your first preference?
anything that is required to get you into your course guaranteed.
Why won't ya tell me the number if you understand its insignificance
i got in the 80th+ percentile. don't see it necessary to post it on the forums though.
