i guess you could say that most programmers will end up making financial reporting implementations and calculators for businesses, so yeah to some degree that's true, it really depends on the field you're developing in and how you need to manipulate figures to get your desired result.
but to suggest there is no complex math at all is ridiculous, considering networking, cryptography, security, games development and other any kind of scientific implementation etc
better math = better programs
i asked a couple of the .net developers who sit nearby, who admittedly use no complex math in their applications, but said that without a good understanding of algebra and other math concepts, their job would be impossible.

Was at Flinders st station this morning and the police had some guy on the ground and he was yelling at some guy who was holding him to the ground. A police officer helped the guy hold him down. The police officer brought out a baton thing to hopefully scare him into submission, I left before any more happened. Was kind of freaked, I think he had tried to attack some guy who was delivering food to one of those little shops.
