[QUOTE=Lonestriper;31833198]Also Sensationalist Headlines, while fun to pick arguments in, has gone right down the shitter. God forbid you go against the Hive-mind[/QUOTE]
You don't know shit. I've been arguing against the hivemind for over a year and as long as you got the skills to back it up and the balls to not back down, they're just a bunch of idiots. Only a small portion of people actual know what they're talking about anyway, the rest know jack shit but no-one calls them out on it or they're just in it to bandwagon on other people's arguments and feel good about insulting someone for being stupid.

You seem slightly more angry than you should about it, it is honestly just a forum where people bolster their opinions because everyone else sprouts the same shit.

You seem to be under the impression I have no choice in being aggressive. On the contrary, I find it a preferable state to being calm and restrained in these situations.
It is not a matter of if something is worth getting angry over, that completely misses the point. It is the accompanying feeling to the experience of argument. Is a sad movie the same if you don't get sad? Is shooter the same if you don't get into the spirit of it? In just the same way, an argument is boring and stale if you don't put a bit of gusto into it.

No, I found it amusing that someone could be so aggressive about such a pacifying subject.

You know what's the worst thing about living here? It's not the people, not the fact it smells like shit, not the feeling of being trapped, it's the stars. I miss being able to see the stars.

I feel that.
I live pretty close to the Melbourne CBD, and at night when it's cloudy, the sky is orange.
I feel like I'm deus ex or something.

taxi drivers = worst drivers
[editline]21st August 2011[/editline]
god damn gas prices
it's about $1 cheaper to use gas per 100km compared to petrol
[editline]21st August 2011[/editline]
I mean, why the hell did we secure East Timor if not to exploit their gas fields.
fucking taxi drivers. double park when there is barely enough room for one car to properly park... its so difficult.
Taxi drivers are annoying how they think they can just stop in the middle of traffic to pick someone up
I hate how Australians say "Youtube" "YouChube"
But then again, we Americans are guilty of butchering English too.

Oh god, the Websters dictionary assisted in butchering the language of one of the most influential nations in the world, helping push the 'idiot nation' agenda, my god how could someone do that?! Let alone an entire nation insist on following that mutated misconstrued version of the English language!? I guess the use of the imperial system doesn't help much either.

english is a disgusting kleptomaniac mongrel peasant language, and that's the way I like it.
if you want linguistic purity, go learn french, or something.
[editline]21st August 2011[/editline]
I mean, why not complain about the shift from en-glish (as in enter) to in-glish.
And that's the bloody name of the language.

I think you replied to the wrong guy. Also English is a very common language, it's natural for people to be invested in ensuring in 50 years time we don't all talk like retards because some exalted dictionary spelt stuff the wrong way and then Americans with their 'brilliance' come along and slurred English into an entirely new language.
So, short answer, I'm not going to speak fucking french. Also let's move off this topic.

Why is Melbourne so violent
Was at the station few days back waiting for the train to flinders when a bogan was standing next to a friend talking about how he wants to be punched in the face just to see how it feels again because apparently his father beat him as a kid and he enjoyed it.
Needless to say I went to the other end of the platform.

Actually the americans speak a 'truer' (or rather, older) form of english than what we do. Except for all the night-nite business, that's just them being lazy stereotypical Americans.

I think I found your problem
Doesn't really matter what country says what words better, we've all deviated from english a bit anyway, we say words which are easier to say with our accents, if we know it or not.
Fuck your true English, it's all bullshit dialects. It's just the way language goes, it can never stay stagnant and it would be stupid to try and force it to.
English is at least versatile and willing to change and adapt. France and China have pretty much banned English words from being incorporated into their language while English incorporates them so well it's hard to tell what is English and what isn't.
