new facebook is so so scary. i just went on my profile after i got the update and spent the last 3 hours deleting shit...
How is it scarier then before?
How is it scarier then before?
before you had to be a keen bean to look through someones deep history, now, it's happy sorted out into 2007 and then right down to month. apparently facebook decided they need to have the ability to record your life history. so your profile lists every year right down to your birth. it then asks you to add things like, when you had surgery or got your drivers license etc it's fucking wack. although it looks awesome, it's fucking scary - especially when you read stuff from 2007. your own stuff...

Part of the reason I don't use the service. The other is that I'm actually a 400-pound mexican serial killer who routinely wears the skin of a 20 year old man to seek victims.

I've taken upon myself two, coincidentally, related projects. First: I have a white board on my wall next to my bed. It's 85.5cm tall, and... some length that I'm not sure of; eyeballing it I'd say... maybe 120cm wide. This came in handy during year 12 and 1st semester of uni as throughout the semester and close to exam time I could put stuff up on the board that I knew I needed to remember. Equations. Rules. That sorta stuff. Come exam time I had been looking at it for long enough that I remembered most of the things on the board. Unfortunately though, due to the size constraint of the tips of white board markers, even with that much room I use up the entire white board quite easily. So I thought... I need more space. What should I do? Another white board would be kinda pointless (even though I could fit another one next to it) as I'd just run into the same problem with room again because, like I said before, white board markers have fairly thick tips. I figure I can probably compress the same info that I do on my entire whiteboard into a sheet or two of paper if I wrote small enough, but I end up losing my important notes for exam revision if they're in paper form and not bound. So I decided I might put a cork board up, I could always just pin my notes to it and they'd be next to me as I sleep so it'd be easy to get to them and read them at night time if need be. But that wouldn't look too appealing on my wall, and frankly... it seems a little... uncool. Anti-awesome if you will. Then it hit me. ... I'm gonna put a corkboard BEHIND the whiteboard that will be fixed to a set of runners so that it can be slid out into view, and when not in use, put back behind the whiteboard (the white board itself is on a pair of wooden slats affixed to the wall, so this is possible). Second: I need more room in my bedroom for books, games, DVDs, and of course, clothes. My current bookcase (which also houses my games and DVDs) is full now, and so are my drawers. My brother recently got a new set of drawers because his old set broke: one of the runners for the middle drawer got bent and all of the drawers ended up being jammed because of it. We could have just taken the middle drawer out, but then he'd lose 1/3 of his space for clothes, so dad bought him a new, better pair that hopefully won't break. An hour or so ago I managed to finally free his drawers by somehow getting the top drawer out, then violently tearing the middle drawer (and runners in the process) out, and then removing the bottom drawer. The drawers in question are rather large: quite deep, quite tall, and quite wide. What I'm gonna do is stick a piece of wood in the empty unit vertically to split the set of drawers into two, taller, empty sections, then I'm gonna stick some shelves in both sides of various sizes and shapes. On one side I'm gonna have a shelf for my xbox, probably have a small shelf below it for the power supply. I'll also have shelves for xbox games, DVDs, and books. On the other side I'm gonna have some open shelves like the other side, but I'm just gonna use these shelves to store some clothes. Might make some drawer units (little square ones) for socks and boxers too. I'll keep my current set of drawers as well because I have enough room, but this will hopefully give me a little bit extra room for clothes among other things. I also realise that now I have 4 pairs of usable runners which I can use for project 1 to make the sliding corkboard idea work! Gonna go to Bunnings tomorrow and get the wood I'll need to make this all work!
