Daniel has told me of your escapades in India.
If you guys are not dead yet, you won't be dead any time soon.

I cannot wait to see SOAD. They are going to be so good.

I had seriously given up on seeing System in my lifetime. I got into them around 2004/2005, so...
Hopefully we can expect some more music in the next couple of years, even.
[editline]14th October 2011[/editline]
But hell, just seeing them would be amazing.
Serj has to have one of the best voices in metal, I think.

I just learned from Daniel yesterday that I've been connected one person away from him for the past like 3 or 4 years or so. He knew someone that I've known since the end of year 10 (and he's known said person for the past few years too).
Everything's fucking interconnected. No wonder that bloody 'Hitler' game on Wikipedia is so fucking easy.
lol at the max brenner protests in the city. drove passed them - amazing to see who actually turns up.

Why is that lolworthy? I agree that the socialist people are generally scummish, but why else is it humorous?
OCCUPY MELBOURNE ,FUCK WALL STREET FUCK MINING COMPANIES FUCK LIBS.
IVE GOT HEALTH INSURANCE BUT I WANT A NEW VOLKSWAGEN AND IT WONT BUY ITSELF MORE MONEY FOR US.

because they're all uneducated fucks that believe somehow that protesting against a private organisation somehow impacts the israeli government.
because they're all uneducated fucks that believe somehow that protesting against a private organisation somehow impacts the israeli government.
They're not all uneducated.
I agree that the protests are ultimately in vain and are going to have little impact, but if that's the way they want to exercise their citizenship, that's perfectly valid. They may not even be trying to achieve something, but just trying to demonstrate that they disagree with the financing of the Israelis against the Palestinians.

Citizenship of what? We have no entrenched right to protest in Australia - regardless, it is absolutely illegal to do what they have done previously. You may not blockade a business.
They may not even be trying to achieve something, but just trying to demonstrate that they disagree with the financing of the Israelis against the Palestinians.
That's fine. Protest all you want about that, even though their idea of how Max Brenner impacts the Palestinians is so so wrong, but don't stop people from entering an organisation.
These are the same people, from the same student unions, that decide to protest against Jewish gathers, they'll cut the electricity to certain buildings and then block them from leaving the building afterwards.
because they're all uneducated fucks that believe somehow that protesting against a private organisation somehow impacts the israeli government.
They are misguided in their attempt to protest Israel by affecting private companies which happen to be Israeli, but still man, they're not all bad nor uneducated.
They are misguided in their attempt to protest Israel by affecting private companies which happen to be Israeli, but still man, they're not all bad nor uneducated.
The ones that decided to turn up to a protest that involves either destroying property, blockading people from entering a business or blockading people from leaving a building / gathering are the ones that are bad and uneducated - and yet the student unions keep giving money to these fuckheads.
I'm not against what they're protesting about, but how they protest and how they keep doing it is fucking despicable and detracts from their whole argument.

Standard Australian weather happening here
Jesus, the OccupyWallStreet people are occupying Byron Bay right now.
Byron Bay is just a monument to corporate oppression.

I'm pretty sure those people still classify as educated
even if it took them 7 years on the dole to finish a 3-year undergrad degree

Uh, Doggunn? You're kind of missing the point.
I'm quite sure that getting arrested would be an indication of victory for them.
It's supposed to be an illegal expression of rights.

lol
I really hope both of those points were sarcasm.
When did that happen?
It's happened a few times - namely a gathering for Rosh Hashanah last month.
Doggunn don't sweep away his points like that, it just isn't cricket
Doggunn do you support Israel?
lol
lol

Contag was talking about the Socialist Alternative at Melbourne Uni. Most of them are like 25 or 26 and are still doing their undergrad degrees because they do 'activism' so much that they go to school part time and go on the dole for money. It a personal dig.
Doggunn don't sweep away his points like that, it just isn't cricket
It would help if they were actually of substance ;)
Doggunn do you support Israel?
What sort of a question is that?
Contag, do you support Burma?
They are misguided in their attempt to protest Israel by affecting private companies which happen to be Israeli, but still man, they're not all bad nor uneducated.
Basically, this.
[editline]16th October 2011[/editline]
Except the problem isn't that they're Israeli, it's that they're giving money to people who are actively trying to oppress the Palestinians.
Contag was talking about the Socialist Alternative at Melbourne Uni. Most of them are like 25 or 26 and are still doing their undergrad degrees because they do 'activism' so much that they go to school part time and go on the dole for money. It a personal dig.
I wasn't really referring to their tertiary level degrees or even schooling, rather them being educated on what they're protesting about.
Contag, do you support Burma?
I think you mean Myanmar, but I presume the old government were corrupt as shit too.
You seem to have a huge hard-on either for private enterprise or israel, I'm trying to figure out which it is.
Citizenship of what? We have no entrenched right to protest in Australia - regardless, it is absolutely illegal to do what they have done previously. You may not blockade a business.
I'm well aware that we have no entrenched right to protest. We have five, fairly outdated entrenched Constitutional rights, and one implied right. That's against the point. Criticize the government for not having a Bill of Rights, but that's kind of against the point.
It's also against the point that they might have done something illegal at some point. Yeah, they're scum, but they still have a right to protest. If they're blockading the business, though, then that's out of line for sure.

Yes, we know.
Just because you disagree with them doesn't make them uneducated.

I thought you were referring to the ability of citizens to protest and revolt as part of their social contract and citizenship. Not what the state deigns to legislatively provide them.
