Stupid post is stupid.
No, a rifle is not a gun. Hence it has RIFLING. so it is a rifle. A gun is always smoothbore.
hence shotGUN.
Pistols have rifling and they are considered guns.
All squares are rectangles, not all rectangles are squares.
Stop being so butthurt about it.

Gun definition.
Pistols are not Guns. People call them this because, as you say, the term "gun" has morphed. This doesn't mean people who call pistols guns are right, they simply use what is effectively slang. Techinically they are Handguns, which is an ironic misnomer as they aren't Guns. Im not butthurt, you're just wrong ;)
Ask anyone involved with the military if a rifle is a gun, and they will tell you, no.
your a fucking idiot get out of my house!
a gun is... "a projectile weapon using a hollow, tubular barrel with a closed end—the breech—as the means for directing the projectile as well as other purposes—an expansion chamber for propellant, stabilizing the projectile's trajectory, aiming, etc.—and assumes a generally, flat trajectory for the projectile.
Barrel types include rifled—a series of spiraled grooves or angles within the barrel—when the projectile requires an induced spin to stabilize it and smoothbore when the projectile is stabilized by other means or is undesired or unnecessary. Typically, interior barrel diameter and the associated projectile size is a means to identify gun variations. Barrel diameter is reported in several ways. The more conventional measure is reporting the interior diameter of the barrel in decimal fractions of the inch or in millimeters. Some guns—such as shotguns—report the weapon's gauge or—as in some British ordnance—the weight of the weapon's usual projectile."
Copy pasted.
From Wikipedia, which is not the grail of all knowledge. Just for the lulz, i checked with me pa, who was in the army for about 8 years, and he confirmed that a gun is used to refer to a barreled projectile weapon with no rifling. A large shell firing weapon with rifling is, in modern terms. a cannon.
Why not call the gun "Oh fuck!"?
"It could only be more awesome if it had tits and was on fire"
Also we need a shuriken launcher and lightning dispenser.
-snip- Fucking image editor, raping my fucking quality.

Regardless the definition has morphed to encompass all firearms. But YOU have to make a big deal out of it, flashing military records and the like. This thread is about making one hell of a GUN, not fight about gin definitions. Go back the weapons discussion.
That is not a gun, it's a rifle.
A gun can be a pistol, rifle, machine gun, sub machine gun etc, so you're wrong.
Gee... You guys do anything to prove yerselves smart huh?
Kinda pathetic since it's over the internet.

Gentlemen, we now have the weapon we will use in all our armies.
We should start over.
