Its a good show, but it seems they spend way more time talking about the history, then showing us the actual God damn gun.
After they claimed the 6.8 SPC was the be all-end all new round for the military, I laughed and never watched the show again.
5.56 has superior ballistic performance. It may lack the ability to knock down a steel plate, but our soldiers aren't shooting steel plates.
Only gun which I believe on the show that was being bought by the US army was the HK416.

Mine sweepers use those small tubes of thermite that melt the mine anyway.
