Isn't this what we are doing all the time though
Who's "we"? Also there's a difference between showing someone is a bigot saying two different things at two different times (I don't think it really helps that much in most cases, but there's a difference) and trying to erase years of experience because of one fuckup which has nothing to do with ethical journalism Remember when they kept saying "GG only has small time indie devs supporting them"? Devs are speaking out, and aggros are pissed and using the same slandering tactics they used against us to try and discredit them to show the world that "see? the devs supporting gg are awful devs and terrible people after all!". Happened with brad wardell, happening with mark kern now.
Digging up dirt on someone's old job because they performed it poorly and showing someone be a hypocrite about their very ideology are two different things.
Honestly, I think people should be allowed to address the issue of old potentially controversial/contradicting statements. People do change, for better or for worse, and it should only really be after reaffirming the old statement (year old ones) that they should be held to it.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/fuPvk7F.png[/t] that privilege is showing mark
Maybe Brianna Wu knows she is Privileged and doesn't want to be Privileged, so when she looks at Mark, she sees someone that is Privileged to be not Privileged.

...is he talking in circles?
Yes, the best part is citing a sociological thesis, because sociology degrees are pretty much going the same route as philosophy degrees in schools that actually teach their students instead of financially bleeding them dry while pandering to their magical fanciful totally not applicable to the real world or actual human beings politics.
He reminds me of a politician. Able to talk for ages without really saying anything.
He reminds me of a politician. Able to talk for ages without really saying anything.
Almost feels like I'm in French class again.
unknown japanese indie dev gives poetry while coming out as pro-gg https://twitter.com/indiedevil/status/572700881457684480
BIG BOOB IS LIFE. Man save woman is life. My impression is that what they're actually concerned about is the quality of games, not whether they are offensive. The press are the ones who feel that media should cater to their bias.
So I know this isn't specifically GG related but it demonstrates a point I made earlier https://38pitches.wordpress.com/2015/03/01/the-world-we-live-in-man-has-it-changed/ Schilling is a gamer but this harassment appears to be sports related in that "athletes" are doing it. But I see this as speaking volumes about Internet culture and the weird notion that pseudo anonymity means you can say terrible things. (I also am not sure how to feel about his doxxing people threatening his daughter)
I don't like curt schilling but Jesus fucking christ are people ever fucking scummy.
One thing I've learned from all of this Gamergate stuff is that medieval Europe was just as racially diverse as your average American city circa 2015 (https://archive.today/dWVsq). White Americans have opened my eyes and showed me the truth about those Yurops and their ultra-racist ways. Incidentally, I've also learned the term "Amerisplaining".

Because the latter doesn't make a interesting and fun game (unless it's a pisstake on the latter concept)

wtf is he even saying. Do these people go to college to learn how to speak smart without actually being smart. "Cultural critics" wtf is this shit.
Here we go agian.
I swear McIntosh has to be some sort of performance.
What if josh is another MDE actor?
Do these people go to college to learn how to speak smart without actually being smart.
Yes, after all, marketing and 'modern journalism' is all about buzzwords, spinning something out of context so it fits your intention/message, and preserving a 'holier than thou' attitude.
You can tell that Juan desperatly wants to be seen as some sort of uber-genius critic like the ones he read in some articles he found on Google Scholar a few years ago, but instead he and his criticism end up being tripe you'd see a 15 year old try to pass off as "smart".

But I guess that would be too much, it would be historically correct as long as you don't see any non-white person. If your character going on impossible missions and killing hundreds/thousands of people single highhandedly does't break your immersion, why would seeing a black person do it? People of different races want to be represented in games, how does that limit your enjoyment of them? It's not like people don't do the reverse with white people all the time. I don't want to see white people showed into a setting where they don't belong equally as much as I don't want to see the opposite.

http://cdn.screenrant.com/wp-content/uploads/Exodus-Gods-and-Kings-Poster-Bale.jpg
I beleive that one of the best places for non-white representation is in games that are meant to take place in Medieval Europe. Everyone knows that Medieval Europe was a rainbow of diveristy, but this has been supressed by evil European nationalists in the 19th century to promote white supremacy.
I think the section you're looking for is sensationalist headlines. This happened before in there, all the sensible people agreed that it's up to the developers if they want to create realistic historical fiction or not and that women in black ops 2 would have been weird.
So apparently the prominent Anti-GGers are turning on Brianna Wu now, from what I hear. https://archive.today/oMjCm http://thespectacularspider-girl.tumblr.com/post/112636841484/wu-has-coffee-with-wardell Holy crap. Are they even real?

http://cdn.screenrant.com/wp-content/uploads/Exodus-Gods-and-Kings-Poster-Bale.jpg
you know, a historically accurate Han dynasty China would be playing a peasant who gets conscripted into a war he doesnt care about and ends up impaled on another guys spear 20 seconds after battle starts, and the man riding a massive red horse with a weird-ass Quad-Trident-Spear would have killed atleast 5000 troops before lunch. infact lets not just do that, let's do realism now as well! lets add sleeping, hunger, thirst, mental state, the smallest of wounds, and then if the player dies the game is rendered unavailable for him or her indefinitely.

Everyone knows that Medieval Europe was a rainbow of diveristy, but this has been supressed by evil European nationalists in the 19th century to promote white supremacy.
Well, Jewish and Muslim minorities certainly existed in European cities (the latter probably counts as 'non-white') but we're speaking of a time when a king or the town's council or whoever else could arbitrarily decide that said minority is probably the cause of all the latest plague and thus they shall no longer hold any rights and chase them all away with torches and pitchforks... Or worse. Peppering a medieval setting with out-of-place minorities feels more like cheerfully whitewashing(heh) history of its darker aspects than anything.
