imagine living in a world where the fantasy equivalent of yoga pants and a tank top counts as "hypersexualized"
Who is Arthur Boop Gies?
Polygon writer who was that one guy who docked two full points off Bayonetta 2's score because of Bayonetta being too sexy and thus Bayonetta being a ploy of the patriarchy.
Can someone explain to me how the one on the left is better?
Besides not having a midriff, and having weirdly huge baggy robo pants.
Like, she's got form fitting boob armor. And pink ass hair.

"hypersexualized"
Can't stand it. I wonder if Gies know there's an entire corner of the internet dedicated to muscle girls.
Why is it always x polygon writer?

I'm starting to believe his train of thought literally were "I find this sexy, therefor it is offensive"

Looks like someone replaced the torso and head of a Gears of War level muscle man with a chicks.

What the hell is it from.
The proportions are really fucking wonky.

At PAX the Blizzard presenter point blank said that the design of Zarya is to make "a more diverse cast". I took it as "At the last Q&A about this game someone told us all the women have the same body type so let's do something different".

Variety is good but christ, she looks weird.
Also if it wasnt for her having tits she'd look like a dude with pink hair.

That's exactly what his viewpoint is.

Variety is good but it's pointless if it's not backed by good design. I'd take generic well-designed characters over original ones that look like shit. But apparently they don't have the same priorities...

I believe that's against one of the cardinal "Character Development Sins According to Anita"....
ms male character
you will never win with them. the only winning move is not to play with them.
also why is her hair pink, it makes no sense to me since it doesnt even match her suit.
I've seen a lot of comments about the hair, and at least a few edits from /v/

To me the Blizzard design crew wanted to appeal to the various body types that were discussed at the Q&A a while back and said "Well these people like colored hair and a different body type, let's do both to shut them up and make them customers." I don't have it on me but the bottom edit was posted on tumblr at least once and one the comments was "Haha, the pink hair scares them". So I would say that Blizzard appealed to the people they wanted on board for this game if people think it's a solid design choice.

Tell me that doesnt just look like a dude with soft eye-area features.

So it doesn't look like a 'babyfaced' male character with large biceps.

If this was her hair color and all you could see, would you think male or female?
Smooth out the tits and it would be completely passable for a male.
And TB is off his meds again.

I don't even want to search, because I'm sure a SJW has complained about the inclusion of the Wii Fit Trainer in the new Smash Bros. titles because of her outfit. And then someone calling her a fighting fucktoy and white while simultaneously near-faceless and 'erased'.
Never mind that she's basically a physically-fit mannequin and her features are more or less racially ambiguous so she could be anything, avoiding discrimination altogether by not making her white or black but anything you want to think.
And then probably a bunch complaining about why Smash has to be about violence.

Those eyebrows on that face with the scar scream "vaguely-effeminate male Tekken character".
The only thing I remember seeing about the latest Smash Bros was a NeoGaf thread asking why there wasn't a good mix of races in the game. But it wouldn't honestly surprise me. :v:
On facebook I saw something mentioned of a hashtag that was trending. As today is I guess international women's day, ‪‪#‎WomenYouShouldHaveHeardOf‬ is trending supposedly. I'd like to hear more about game devs like the AC one.
What the hell Xenoverse has ranked matches?
Currently full of Namekians with Namiccolo souls, yes.

It's the facial features: Strong jaw line, strong chin, etc......
as an expert on designing women thanks to 300h+ in skyrim i can conclude that she looks much better with black hair. the pink hair stands out far too much, even for a game which has gorillas and robots the size of a house as playable characters. i dont mind the hairstyle at all, but change the pink to black or a very dark brown and i wouldnt mind her design whatsoever.
anything that isnt a strong neon colour. it just looks awful on almost anyone and anything. if i do play overwatch ill just play as i think it's called Bastion? the robot with a minigun in any case.

Female tekken character:

I don't see why you'd need pink hair to signify femininity? They can look androgynous for all I care
[t]http://i1-news.softpedia-static.com/images/news2/Tekken-6-Will-Not-Have-Unlockable-Characters-2.jpg[/t]
The Tekken series has a thing for ridiculous eyebrows now and then, that's all I was highlighting. Those are some pretty distinct eyebrows. Not even that there's anything wrong with the design at all, just, if you look at the face as being on a male character, those eyebrows are hilarious.
IDGAF about either character, a character's a character. Variety in designs is good, artistic freedom is good.

I'm still getting angry moments when people tell me that overly built women look beautiful and womanly. No they fucking not, if they are overly built in terms of muscle mass bulk, it means they have a fuckload of testosterone to help accomodate that, which means all their trait makes them look manly.
I mean, come the fuck on.

Sorry, it wasn't really directed at you; I was just sort of bouncing off what you said. My point was that Tekken has a masculine (well, boy-ish) female character and she's fine. All this "it's a man with boobs and pink hair" stuff feels kind of irrelevant to me personally
Honestly, I really couldn't care less whether characters are male or female. Zarya seems pretty cool and I love more diversity in body types- not because "blah oversexualisation!!!" but because it just seems like they've put some effort in. I'm sure it's feasible for a woman to look like that, and even if it's not, eh, it's a videogame. Think they could have dulled down the pink hair just a smidgeon, though.
Is it wrong I don't see a problem with either? I think variety is for the best.
