If anyone can read Spanish check out the Spanish Gamergate wiki entry
If anyone can read Spanish check out the Spanish Gamergate wiki entry
google's autotranslate makes it a better article than the english one currently is
Oh hey, that article was written by Laura! Also, they have changed to title to 'Not just' rather than 'Other than', which is fair enough. She did essentially help found the site, so I'd say it's more of a slightly cheeky way of saying that anyone is welcome to join. They're basically saying "Hey, don't be scared if you want to write for us! We're not afraid to get articles from minority groups!" You might argue the necessity of it, but I think everybody's getting slightly worked up about a slight wording issue in a title of an otherwise fairly sensible article. [editline]20th January 2015[/editline] Then again, I should disclaim that I have known Laura personally in the past, and feel quite sympathetic towards her, so that might bias me somewhat.
If anyone can read Spanish check out the Spanish Gamergate wiki entry
As a native spanish speaker, I can confirm that the spanish article is far more unbiased than the english one. It actually talks about stuff like the donations to charity and the gamers are dead articles.
there is no polish version, but I took a look at the croatian one some time ago, and even though I hardly understood anything I still found it less biased then english one
As a native spanish speaker, I can confirm that the spanish article is far more unbiased than the english one. It speaks as much about the harassment issues (without attributing such events to either side when it wasn't proven) as about the ethics issues. Any subjective statement is between quotation marks and explicitly attributed to the source they belong to. The only thing that bugs me is the part where they say Grayson never reviewed DQ and failed to mention he did actually cover it in an RPS article. It seems POV-pushers are much less virulent on non-English Wikipedia. [editline]20th January 2015[/editline] Wait, actually while it is better than the English version, it also has its flaws. The IRC chatlog screenshots are somehow presented as proof of #Gamergate being the result of astroturfing and they use that source to claim sockpuppets accounts were created for #NotYourShield (while not claiming all of them are, it does say they exist without actual proof). People on the talk page also fight about Youtube videos being representative of one's opinion and considering news sources accused of corruption more legitimate. I wonder if the French and Spanish editors can colaborate to write an English version. Being an English speaker with very limited ability to read French, how is GG portrayed in foriegn media.
Most Dutch tech sites are just translation services. Stuff that gets posted on Facepunch at times can take from 3 days to a week to appear. Things they do review carry no indication if they got the product as a gift, bought it, or the company lend it.
Dutch newssites without paywalls aren't of much help either, as I can remember one site (AD.nl) running an article about Sarkeesian calling off the Utah State meeting due to supposed threats, which was not only anti-GG as hell, but also seemed to have been thrown hastily into Google Translate by the amount of grammatical and spelling errors in it. The other notorious one I know of was a far-right newsblog who thrive on controversy all the time (GeenStijl). I remember that people were trying to contact them to get coverage on the scandal in general, only for their main editor to give a rude answer back about how internet drama is worthless before running an article later that day over an internet conversation of a Dutch Minister. All that proved is how standards in normal journalism is also going rapidly down the shitter here.
You don't really see it mentioned a lot because social justice isn't really a thing in the Netherlands. Seeking attention is pretty heavily frowned upon, and professional victims would have a difficult time here.
So apparently a bunch of people, including Kim Pallister, a Intel Director, have retweeted this in an attempt to get Totalbiscuit banned from Steam Curators: Totalbiscuit isn't amused:

How do they really expect him to be removed as a curator? He has the highest amount of followers for any curator. Steam doesn't give a shit if 1000 people say "Fuck you" to him. I'm just surprised people are so self deceptive they believe this kind of shit.

It's all about optimism, really :v:

I don't know what the odds of someone faking their relationship is, but it's gotta be pretty low. All the same, what the fuck is up with a selfie where the phone isn't even on the camera app, or the SnapChat app.

Yahtzee "Games Journalism is about Games" Crowshaw everyone. I found this to be a good read.
Ok listen, I don't know who the fuck peter coffin is and I didn't even want to believe someone would even do this But I'm an animator and I can tell you, nobody fucking moves like this: https://media.8ch.net/cow/src/1421792399954.webm See that twitching recoil at the end? That is not something a human being does, and all the while the arm, shoulder and neck stay perfecty still. Nobody fucking does that unless you're deliberately try to look like a fucking robot. I genuinely hope he's just fucking with everyone.
All he has to do is take a video of her walking and talking to clear any doubts. The guy has a youtube channel with hundreds of videos but his family isn't featured in any of them.
peter coffin keeps making fake girlfriends the first one was so hilarious because he made racist asian jokes through it and she was actually korean when she kept saying she was japanese
Alright I think it's best we stop while were ahead about this, Let conspiracy theories be conspiracy theories until they are proven - sure it looks fake, but let the 4chin detectives figure out if it is or not. Were here to discuss ethics not somebody's personal life.
I'm not sure what I'm reading about right now but it scares me quite a bit.
Team Ninja (Developers of Dead or Alive) is paying attention to GG and has said some very wise words! https://archive.today/eCBmO
Gender equality, misogyny, gamergate are all industry topics/issues that we are certainly aware of and paying close attention to.
That reminds me, i saw an article with Ed Boon, lead dude at Netherrealm, co-creator of Mortal Kombat, interviewer randomly asked him about gamergate and he dodged the question like a pro.
