bob chipman is no longer sporting the escapist on his profile either. looks like moviebob is no more. also this
Wow, escapist is turning over a lot. Didn't we lose Sterling as well over? I wonder if the escapist is aware that the only reason anyone shows up is Yahtzee.

ZQ changed her patreon purpose to fund CON take down her patreon like they did 8chan https://archive.today/08dzI
Update on wikipedia votes :
Ryulong topic ban on: indefinitely prohibited from making any edit about, and from editing any page relating to, (a) Gamergate, (b) any gender-related dispute or controversy, (c) people associated with (a) or (b), all broadly construed. However, checkmark means it will pass regardless. Only if "Cannot pass" on notes means it is a confirmed no. It should also be noted that once something cannot pass, all votes on a different (number) will be passed to the voters next choice. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/GamerGate/Proposed_decision [editline]a[/editline] P.s, under principles this is one of the only two cases in which arbitration has been given emergency powers. {Enough is enough.} Arbitration agree's that both sides want to act in good faith but are failing to do so.
This one has seven votes in favor:
Ryulong is indefinitely prohibited from making any edit about, and from editing any page relating to, (a) Gamergate, (b) any gender-related dispute or controversy, (c) people associated with (a) or (b), all broadly construed. These restrictions may be appealed to the Committee only after 12 months have elapsed from the closing of this case.
The global ban itself has five of the eight needed, with three opposed. And four of those five named it their first choice.
This one has seven votes in favor: The global ban itself has five of the eight needed, with three opposed. NorthBySouth looks like he may get off without punishment, but he's definitely going to have a sword over his head, so he may back down. Of course, if he keeps it up, it can just come right back.

In any case you are correct - admins will be suctioning anybody who so has a hint of being biased - that's from both sides.
The global ban itself has five of the eight needed, with three opposed. And four of those five named it their first choice.
if 3 absent then 1 more vote needed
Man if GG had something like that it'd make things 1000% more interesting. I wish there was more support for something like a union, though.
One doesn't even need Arbcom to realize Ryulong has no place on any wiki Like seriously he's received money from anti-gamers, called Gamers various insults, approaches every scenario with the battleground mentality of "I HAVE TO SAVE THE WOMEN", is considered by anti-gamers to be on their side and pretty much confirms it, uses emotional arguments instead of logical ones, and for fucks sake he is literally some weirdo who just edited power rangers and anime stuff in the past. Yet somehow acting this autistic gets support from Wikipedia because he agrees with ~Social Justice~
Can someone explain to me what the Findings of Fact mean?
Can someone explain to me what the Findings of Fact mean?
Basically if they all agree what the facts are. So for example fact A and fact B are presented, they all vote "yes" on Fact A, so it's a verified fact and they will reference it in votes. Fact B is voted against, so it is an unverified fact and won't be considered as evidence. And before you ask, yes, they can still consider or ignore verified and unverified evidence, they just can't be used in creating a judgement.
So what happened to Gamer gate? I'm from Argentina, and well, as my country has 0 game journalism and 0 game industry, there are not that much news around here. Last time I checked, a fucking bomb went off when a female dev was found out to be a manipulative SOB who slept with journalists in order to give her favours and do smear campaigns against those who opposed her. From that point on....what happened? EDIT: What's that wikipedia thingy? Guys? What the fuck is going on?

[editline]21st January 2015[/editline] Or not as I read through and see the same Arbcom people saving those guys.

I like how the findings of fact against masem got smacked down so quickly.
Looks like some more drama's occurred. Lizzy got doxxed, her info got leaked to /baph/, her twitter account is completely gone (not just suspended, gone comepletely), and apparently /baph/ investigating it because apparently the person who leaked the info was trying to use /baph/ as his/her personal army. For those who don't remember, Liz was the one who wrote that "GamerGate from my eyes" blog-post that she put on Buzzfeed and has written a lot of stuff criticizing the anti-gamer feminists, and pretty much one of the better-known GG'ers on the twitter front.

From that point on....what happened? EDIT: What's that wikipedia thingy? Guys? What the fuck is going on?
A LOT of things happened. Many more examples of journalistic malpractice turned up, and some of the journos actually defended that and insulted people complaining about it. Also a lot of people exploded all over their real-name, professional Twitter accounts, in the most ridiculous way possible. Tons of internal SJW drama over who is too privileged too, because if you self-victimize so much that you make more than 10000$ a month on Patreon they'll drop support so quickly it's not even funny. It also went on mainstream news and TV, so it blew up quite a bit more. (Those reports were almost exclusively completely biased.) The FTC (US trade regulatory organization) updated their guideline specifically due to GG lobbying, so Gawker now has to disclose all of their affiliate links if they don't want to get sued. A few people got swatted or were attempted to be swatted, iirc about the same count on both sides. One guy did get firemanned but later fabricated evidence so people ignore him now. A huge amount of drama surrounding 8chan, which apparently resulted in a reconvention of old/b/ (the raiding stuff) in the form of /baphomet/ which now continuously doxxes and harasses people and blame-shifts onto GG. (Half of the swattings were their doing.) Patreon kicked off all porn funding due to the 8chan issues (but that was before /baphomet/ was made huge by one of the SJWs freaking out about it on main stream media). At least two people faked suicide online, only to reappear a week/hours later. The International Game Developers Agency(?) (IGDA) called about 20000 people, including KFC and one of their own chairmen "some of the worst harassers" online, by officially endorsing a ridiculously bad GG blocklist tool as anti-harassment. (It works by blocking anyone who follows two or more of a certain group of people on Twitter.) As a result I am now blocked by Raspberry Pi. The Wikipedia article is full of edit warring and point-of-view pushing, especially from AGG. It doesn't help either that Wikipedia's founder is labelling GG as a group of misogynistic harassers too. It was interesting, to say the least. [editline]22nd January 2015[/editline]
Patreon didn't allow hotwheels to keep his page when he changed its purpose, though it was pending closure due to the rules being changed to put him in violation. I've read two Politico articles that have a tiny GamerGate mention, and both times they refer to GGers as misogynistic white conservatives. Where did we go wrong?
