Corruption in Gaming Journalism Discussion V2 - Back from the dead!

I'm getting a little fed up on how much of GG has become about defending GG. It should be a secondary goal, not a primary one. Only a handful of the shit on KiA is directly related to ethics. The rest is SJW, arbcom, and preservation of public image.
It's just a slow news day, I suppose.
the talk page is great

The article is still incredibly shitty, why don't they have a banner up on it saying that this article is under evaluation or something? It doesn't even have the current event banner on top.

We've made our point and it really doesn't bear repeating every little fuck up that journos do.

its just how reddit works, and everywhere else for that matter. Theres enough people for there to be a constrant stream of posts on reddit and /gamergate/ and there are only so many ethics related happenings to discuss, so the rest just comes down to whatever there is to talk about. It's not really something to be worried over.

Tip of the iceberg etc etc, you could watch emailing, digging, archiving efforts or just wait on the lawsuits like the rest of us.

How long until we see this page deleted?

Honestly, it'd be easier to get the ethics-related stuff done if we managed to break through the negative public image. But then again, the best way to break said image would be to get more ethics-related stuff done.

Me as well, definate difference between addressing social issues and spewing hate ,the commenters don't seem capable of making that distinction.

It'sOnUs was pretty much david gaider and a couple others' pretty hate machine at the company; basically saying our customers are shit, look how sad we are that our customers all suck and are fuckfaces.
Frankly, this is a vast improvement over statements they have made in the past, also this is literally nothing new. BWE was the first company to turn on it's customers and start to "delay action firing" (aka, hey game designer guy, you can be in charge of QA now for a cut in pay, how's that sound? good?) staff for political reason, and it happened WELL before #GG was ever a thing, as in years before.

Don't defend anybody, as long as your course is clear, there's no reason to have to backtrack on someone else's account.
Speaking of Movieblob.

This can also be ties into his agenda pushing.
And we can all agree that actually getting the FTC to change its rules a is a huge accomplishment for GG, right?

That's the thing. We have lawsuits and all sorts of other stuff going on that take time to resolve. I have a feeling news will be slow, and we'll be more reactionary until then.
Jesse cox is a evil transphobic person according to anti-gg

Ryulong at it again, this time trying to delete the article of a site, Adland, that ran pro-gg articles.
He got shut down fairly quick though, I'm really not into the inner workings of Wikipedia, but it seems that the deletion request was already denied. I can't link the actual discussion sadly, but around 10 people commented, all said to keep, and just called Ryulong out for trying to still push his shit, despite his ban.

I'm just saying if in your country it's legal to murder trans people it might be wise to go somewhere else
Or it might just be another example of someone running for the oppression olympics

Jesus christ this guy is a premium source of salt.

Hmm.
I guess if ryulong doesn't get it removed, he doesn't get paid aGG money.
can't wait for when her patreon goes bye at the end of jan
Because Wu isn't known to make shit up, like when she had definitive proof that gamergate was 300 people
Just ignore her rambling, seriously
can't wait for when her patreon goes bye at the end of jan
Wait what? I remember that she got into some hot water due to her tweets, or something about inflating the amount of patrons/money she gets with some shady stuff, but there's a chance for a complete removal?

patreon says that her patreon is a big violation and will be removed when the new rules go into effect at the end of Jan
i posted a pic of the patreon email response either in this thread or the old one

Seriously boggles my mind why people even give her attention from the pro side. She acts just like the crazy cat lady who's been living alone for far too long and is just completly gaga. Only she was always a nutjob, atleast according to the stuff they dug up about her past.
Well I can't not post this

I'm unsure why he's incredibly angry. Despite his numerous violations committed in the past, he wasn't banned permanently from the site nor he was banned from editing other articles. He was only banned from editing the GG article.
He got his 5 minutes of internet fame as a brave white knight standing up for all the oppressed damsels in the world
Now that they're taking it away he's going back to being a useless git who spends all day on wikipedia

This is exactly what happened with sarkesian, people just couldn't leave well enough alone, all they had to do is play the victim card and ride the wave of attention all the way to the bank. And the best part is they didn't have to do any actual work to get recognition.

People need to be reminded of this more often

He's suffocating and is trying to bring as many articles down as he can along with him. That AfD is as clear as it's going to get.
Finally saw a real mention of GamerGate from one of the few friends I keep on Facebook, she's one of my closest friends but is a pretty big feminist herself and she came across addictinginfo's "Five Women" article about wikipedia. She posted about it and one of her friends thought it must be satire or parody, and she said she didn't know. So I made a lengthy post about the situation, Ryulong in particular, and linked her directly to the ArbCom case. She's not stupid and she knows me well enough, so I trust she'll come around.

What the hell does she mean by 'evaluating' games?
I thought she wanted a job as a game dev, not somebody in charge of quality control.
