ill be curious to see if the wiki gamergate article actually gets any better now that a lot of the worst editors are gone. It looks like the red pen of doom is still there so probably not but we'll see.
Found a KIA post that answered my question: http://www.reddit.com/r/KotakuInAction/comments/2u1yyr/ryulong_still_has_reign_on_wiki/ They banned him for 'messing with ryulong'. Just read the full thing yourself. It's supposed to be a rule on wikipedia that you can revert banned editor's edits no questions asked.
I found a quote that he supposedly sent to his RocketHub backers, at least supporting that he tried to fulfil the campaign goals: I can't verify this, but if accurate it seems he has (misguided) personal beef with GamerGate and is letting it out on innocent people. (Those politicians he paraphrases seem like assholes too though.)
Here's the announcement, courtesy of @GameDiviner: [t]http://i.imgur.com/dt3ISRs.png[/t] It seems like he didn't run at least, just seemingly didn't post the promised video updates. He also seems to be not in the position to do what he wants to accomplish.
Here's how it will play out. 1. TotalBiscuit accepts Wu's offer if she's being serious. 2. He gives it a bad review. 3. Wu has YouTube take it down because TB gave it a bad review. 4. Drama ensues.
No, he'll pass because he's obviously biased, or at least considered biased, and therefor can't review it. Here's what would happen if he did: He reviews it and deems it terrible in a video (because it really looks like a terrible game). Every SJW in existence will claim he's only saying it's shit because he hates Brianna. Brianna is going to cry on twitter and get a ton of free publicity. TB looks like a jackass and Brianna comes out the winner in the end. TB wouldn't even touch that game with a ten foot pole.
i think emperorvagek meant if he reviewed it before gamergate
same thing, only brianna would cry on twitter about TB hating women game devs and get free publicity that way.
Jimmy wales learns about sealioning https://storify.com/gameragodzilla/jimmy-wales-on-sealioning
I'm not much of a fan storify, so I took at look directly at the tweets and damn, thank god I'm not the whole one who thought that while reading it.
wales is impressively neutral. I don't think he's "neutral" like Biscuit as much as entirely non-caring about the entire ordeal. Biscuit was neutral to avoid starting any drama, but I don't think Wales really cares as much
Jimmy wales learns about sealioning https://storify.com/gameragodzilla/jimmy-wales-on-sealioning
My favorite part is when someone tried to apply the concept of sealioning to Wikipedia. "b-b-but we have to source our stuff!! sexism!!!"

Think about the possible outcomes: A) She slams it for being poorly-made sexist garbage. Internet catfight ensues. B) She struggles to find valid reasons to praise it without coming off as supporting the sexualization of vidya women, doing enough mental gymnastics to win all the golds at the special olympics. Either way it would be hilarious.
jesus christ. watching graham linehan alienate his fans for absolutely no reason but political rage is heartbreaking. https://twitter.com/Glinner/status/560800609751007233 like, how much of a cunt can one person be?

I've got an extra copy of Sanctum II from a 4 pack that's just been sitting in my inventory for months.
He showed up late to the party and we're seeing him catching up really fast "GG women are fakes!" (gets BTFO) "GG women are stupid and ignorant!"
So it seems that i100, who are part of the Independent (a newspaper in the UK), support Anita. That's disappointing for a newspaper which claims to try and look at a situation from all angles. Burch is on fire. https://twitter.com/reverendanthony/status/560855596530819073 I was going to buy the rest of DLCs soonish for BL2. Welp, guess i aint buying anything more.

I think I'd be pretty upset too if someone with a doge avatar told me off.
I don't necessarily disagree with that you can have non-hetero characters "for no reason", the problem with Burch was that he played their non-heteroness as the main trait, even though it should be in the background. Hetero characters are also often hetero "for no reason", but it's not like they talk all the time about how they really really like the opposite sex.
As someone whos pan, it really fucking pisses me off when characters are shoehorned into different sexualities. There are great ways to show someone is gay/bi/pan by putting subtle hints than shit like "hahah i love dick/vagina" or "i wouldn't mind taking a piece of you" from the same sex. Arcade Gannon from FA:NV, Vivian in thousand year door in jap release, the MGS series has bisexual characters, and much more. All of them have the sexuality as a background drop and not what defines them completely. Its like having every straight character go around saying they want to bone someone of the opposite sex, Its extremely uncomfortable and bad writing.

Shoehorning in a particular sexual orientation and making it all "look we have a X character look how progressive we are" kinda goes all against the normalisation that people of that orientation have been yearning for from society, it manages quite the opposite actually, as it objectifies them as just their orientation, rather than have that part of them be just that, a part of their whole character.

He's gay and you can play the entire game and never know it. It literally doesn't show at all as a function of his general personality.
You mean someone actually got paid for writing borderlands' story?
More than Veronica is Arcade Gannon. He's gay and you can play the entire game and never know it. Meanwhile the only promiscuous characters - gay or otherwise - are all prostitutes with maybe one or two justifiable exceptions. I find it sad how New Vegas and Obsidian never really get the recognition they deserve

Take as an example, Poison. It's unknown whether or not she's trans- but a lot of fans think that she is. This has no bearing on her abilities, positive or negative. Pointing out somebody's minority status is important if it actually has a bearing on the story; eg, if your character is black in the Civil Rights Movement, it's probably worth mentioning that they're black. But if they're black in your novel set in the year 2954 when all racial discrimination has been eliminated, you can probably leave it to just the odd phrase describing their skin tone.

Borderlands 2 literally has several quests where you work to help a male character hook up with a female character. I also can't think of any characters off the top of my head where "non-heteroness" is the main trait? He says some dumb shit but it certainly doesn't stop me from enjoying the game.
Everyone says Burch has written characters defined solely by their sexual orientation. I played through the entirety of Borderlands 1 and Borderlands 2 several times (except 2's DLC) and I can't for the life of me remember a single character like that. Does anyone have any specific examples of this, or is it the same untrue bullshit being telephoned around like how people always say BL2 is full of memes (it's not). The only thing that comes to mind is that Sir Hammerlock is gay, but he only mentions it in like a single line of dialogue.

This is one hundred percent true. I did not have any particular stories to tell about human sexuality — I just randomly chose a few characters and decided that they weren’t heterosexual. I had no "reason" to do so other than the belief that a cast of sexually diverse characters is better than a sexually homogenous one."

“When Randy Pitchford, Matthew Armstrong, Brian Martel and I were in a meeting about the playable characters, the initial plan was to have Nisha, Wilhelm, Claptrap, and another male character,” said Burch. “I got irritated about the gender imbalance, and everyone else agreed we needed another woman.”

“Thanks!” said Burch. “Torgue started out as an over-the-top parody of masculinity, but in a kind of shitty and problematic way–in Borderlands 2 he has a line about how if you don’t like explosions “you must be wearin’ women’s underwear,” which is obviously problematic for like eighty reasons. As time went on and I got slightly less ignorant about gender politics while Torgue got slightly more popular, I tried to shift him into a more progressive frame of mind.”
he literally shoves his fucking agenda into the game nonstop to make himself feel better. I will not purchase another game hes even laid a finger on because he has to hamfist equality just for the sake of it instead of actually writing in characters like normal/exaggerated human beings. Could you imagine if masterchief just started hitting on some elite and was flamboyant as shit for no reason at all in a sequel? Burch is literally garbage at writing and his agenda shoving is garbage. Like I said, most writing teams that include characters who are bi/gay/pan/trans pay just a little nod to the character. When you base the whole damn character around it, its garbage and makes it look forced and almost offensive.
