Wow. So not trolls, not people, but a company, a news media site got a ad campaign shut down with their sarcastic self glorifying bullshit?
What. The. Fuck. Good god I can't wait for gawker to go under.

Possible lawsuit from coke incoming on Gawker.
Possible lawsuit from coke incoming on Gawker.
Needless to say but if that happens, i dont think anyone expected Gakwer to finally be killed by fucking Coca Cola.

So Kotaku has attacked the Allistair Pinsof interviews.

Coke and Gawker may in fact be owned by the same entity,I recall a web diagram showing what groups own what.

"Don't trust Pinsof's word, trust ours!"
Well fucking bravo kotaku, you showed me the error of my ways
is it sexist to think that if a man made Revolution 60 it would get slammed for poor graphics / animations / voices / sexism but because Wu made it it's progressive

Breaking news: Site which had supported Phil Fish continues to support Phil Fish. Wonder if they'd say this same stuff had he been accused of sexual assault or something along those lines?
is it sexist to think that if a man made Revolution 60 it would get slammed for poor graphics / animations / voices / sexism but because Wu made it it's progressive
Not exactly, it's a bad game and it's not that it's progressive (It's quite the opposite infact, even if Wu is trying to fix it) - if a man made it it would still get the same praise because of the controversy surrounding it. Now had a man made it and it was up to mysgonist standards like it is now, it would probably be more easily dismissed. Wu is transgendered BTW, so that deflects a lot of criticism as well.
Anyways, go to the thread for it on flash video's, you can talk about it there with people with a more neutral mindset.
So Kotaku deleted Allistair Pinsof comment:

i posted this in the sensationalist news thread but ill throw it here too because i thought i was posting it in this thread:
pinsof's official response
http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1skget9
and a deleted tweet from another person in the gaming industry that broke kotaku's narrative:
https://archive.today/Sob79
a interview where phil fish says fez wasn't his idea:
https://archive.today/9FYNy
Can Kotaku even settle on a narrative to follow these days? Are they so desperate to defend themselves that even talking about potential corruption within the indie gaming circle automatically means you're pro gamergate? Do they have eyes and/or ears over there?
Here are some fun(?) news(?) articles(?) that popped up:
‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 16, episode 14 preview: Mariska Hargitay, cast take on gamergate
"[...] hopefully going to expose something that is very real: The misogyny and the hatred that can occur towards women in the gaming community. [...]" With that preview? I doubt it.
Trolls eating Trolls
Yay for "This is not a gaming exclusive problem [...]" I suppose, but otherwise it's the same stuff as always.
Apparently there's a Swedish reality TV show about exposing trolls irl reviewed here, but it seems about as unrelated as it gets.
The march of the new political correctness
This one's pretty funny at times, with an entire paragraph about how "The reaction was comedy gold." :v:
It is an actual printed article too it seems, but I'm not sure how to categorize The Spectator since I have no clue about British print magazines.
Its mention of Gamergate is tiny and particular, but not entirely wrong I think.
Wikipedia: the perpetual motion native ad machine
This is on adland.tv, which some of you may know for not slamming GamerGate in their articles about it.
They don't endorse it at all either, but apparently that wasn't enough for some people
Anyway, this one's mostly (and very sarcastically) slamming big publications for their terrible advertising practices and bad reporting.
The internet is full of men who hate feminism. Here's what they're like in person.
AGG Vox feminist writer actually goes out to meet MRAs, actually manages to win the self-awareness check (but still tries to portray MRA as negatively as possible).
I'm linking this directly because it's not entirely terrible, despite mediocre writing and being fairly dismissive of GG where it's mentioned.
It ends with a note about online criticism that I agree with but don't exactly draw the same conclusions from.
The Wikipedia Ouroboros
Yes, it's on Slate. No, it's not a hitpiece (not even remotely). Yes, it's actually pretty good journalism.
That said, it's not really about GamerGate either. It does discredit a lot of questionable news outlets though.
Directly linked for factual reporting with sources for every claim. It's also pretty funny.

Not surprising that it was written by Auerbach. He's probably the most level-headed of all the web journalists who have written about GG.
I'm never engaging on Kotaku again. Fuck that place is hostile as shit. Do not go there if you don't want stress overload.
They're so much angrier than any GGer I've ever met.

I made an account there to shitpost a long time ago but the responses were so unnerving or dumb I just logged off and never bothered to look at comments ever again.
I'm surprised it's taken you this long to figure that out. It's why I've avoided that place since at least early 2013.
well I go there from time to time to see if there's reasonable people around. But yeah I guess I am a little stubborn and slow to realize that. The comments I received in that time period were just ridiculous and plentiful. I've rarely felt hostility like that, maybe facepunch has shielded me from that in a lot of ways but still.
THERES A PART 3
http://techraptor.net/content/gamergate-destrutoid-interview-allistair-pinsof-part-3
There are women in GG that want their voices heard but they are silenced due to this smear tactic of conflating feminism and censorship debate with abuse. I can imagine, done intentionally or not, that media justifies this as necessary to slaying the beast and ending abuse campaigns against Anita, Quinn and Wu. The ramifications though will set the industry back in ways people don’t realize. You have celebrities RT’ing that women in games aren’t allowed creative roles. You have national newspapers saying that women — not three specific women for various specific reasons — are hated and abused by gamers. These statements are not true and presenting these statements, free of factual reporting and sourcing all parties, to the non-gaming public will damage funding, creative control, and community interaction in years to come.
Sadly true, what these people don't realize is that they are damaging the videogame industry more then they think they are helping it - they are creating distance between everybody for precieved others sake.
Misogyny and hate exists in GamerGate but by that standard, the internet is a hate group. What popular news site, forum, online game, or chat room have you been in where there isn’t a noticeable air of misogyny and shit-talking? This doesn’t make these attitudes and actions okay, but to present the game community as being disproportionately misogynist in comparison to other online communities is dishonest and manipulative.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
you are really gay, i hope you fucking end your life faggot.
he's a happy homosexual, we all die some day, have a coke.
Someone's got a secret admirer.....
Call a 3rd wave feminism toxic man-hating harassment: "You can't blame us all for a loud minority!"
Call GG toxic misogynistic woman hating harassment: "It's true because one person did this!"
The irony, it hurts....
uh oh looks like a certain group found this thread
uh oh looks like a certain group found this thread
I would like to see some of them try to present actual counter arguments and rational talk, but I think that may be asking a bit much....
please don't abuse your children or they will grow up to shitpost on troll alts
I made an account there to shitpost a long time ago but the responses were so unnerving or dumb I just logged off and never bothered to look at comments ever again.
I am still amazed that Gawker/Jezebel had an article about "having a rape gif problem". That will forever be among the most absurd things I've ever heard or read about online ever.
Trying to find out where FP was mentioned to attract attention, If I don't find anything in about 5 minutes then it was probably something on a chatroom.

Privately linked or single person, although I assume some of you already knew this.

Glad the mods here are on the ball.
