i dont know why u guys care, SVU has been reprehensibly god awful the right before christopher meloni left. he knew what was up and he bailed. classic svu is the bomb. new svu is a hellish nightmare of bad writing.
The writing started getting extremely ridiculous by the end part of the Stabler era, but at least it balanced things out by having Stabler turn into a blood-thirsty dick that did things like beat the ever-loving shit out of a suspect they haven't charged with a crime in the interrogation room and barricade the room so that nobody can stop him.
If this episode had Stabler beating up random neckbeards while Munch made sarcastic quips about games brainwashing kids to be pro-military it would've been a lot better.
SVU actually did a gaming-related episode a decade earlier and it was a lot better because half of it was Munch and Ice-T playing off of each other and it had Cragen call them "The Super Mario Brothers" before Cragen beat a Quest 64-like game and used his knowledge of the game to help get the truth about what happened from an autistic and abused kid.
Someone uploaded a SVU supercut, 9 minutes of pure insanity.

RIP Gamergate, killed by bad writing during the great war of the strawmen
#GameOnSVU trending on Twitter, but Brianna Wu trending on Facebook.
YOU COULD HAVE STOPPED THIS
Just discovered that Wu blocked me from her Twitter after I suggested that revolution 60 may have gotten bad reviews because it was perhaps a bad game and not due to gamer gate as she was suggesting.

Don't take this the wrong way, but why are you sick of hearing about it? What I mean by that is which aspects of it, to you, are getting annoying? Is it because you think the media is wrong about it, AGG is dumb, GG is dumb, or just that the whole situation is dumb? I'm not trying to be condescending or anything like that. I'm just curious about why you feel that way.
I miss talking about corruption in games journalism.

This SVU episode is kind of a refresher on that. It was basically every crappy thing journalists have been peddling about gamers mashed together and made "real." It was the literal manifestation of the "Gamers are Dead" nonsense that helped start this whole thing.
Even Kotaku is thinking SVU went too far :v:
whos oliver campbell

Not to talk for the guy, but for me it's two groups of people that are shouting at brick walls with smaller groups of trouble makers on each side(doxxing, making threats and general arseholeness).
I have no trouble with females being a part of the gaming community whether it's playing or developing and don't think they should be classed as "not real gamers".
Then again I do feel both sides have aggressors that aren't really helping anything other than to boost the popularity of their blog, game, twitter, gaming news website and continuance of all the arguing is just getting them more attention.
To me it's just a massive shitty situation that makes everyone involved even people that don't want to be like Brandy92 into a massive joke to the rest of the world.
whos oliver campbell
The original totally a white basement dweller like the rest of us CISGENDERED MALE who started #notyourshield.
When you protest and it gets popular, bad people will try to take it over for their own needs - unfortunately that is the way with a movement of very wide range of political ideologies. It will be a never cycle of bad people on both sides - it's just that the more popular people on their side are bad people, and it's the least popular people who are the bad people here. Otherwise, I wouldn't even be bothering with this.
It's not a coincidence that when you see twitter arguments eventually you keep running into the same people, most don't care about "yelling at the other side", but those that do are the loudest
jmillerworks started #NotYourShield and got fired from his workplace because of it. Oliver is someone else entirely.
Last I heard hes in financial ruin, doesn't even have running water - somebody really hated him and contacted anybody who he ever even talked too.
That's what he says, anyways.
Was Anita, Zoe and Brianna actually in this episode?
Or have characters named after them?
What is going on exactly.
Reina Punjabi, the female dev who gets harrassed, looks like Anita but with Indian ethnicity and a much prettier face, and goes on stage in front of a crowd like Anita. The game is pretty much Wu's Revolution 60 if it were less shit somehow, and Reina complaining about doxxing and other shit screams of Quinn.
She's an amalgam of all three, basically. Unsurprisingly, McIntosh is nowhere to be seen pulling the strings.
Wait, are you telling me the crappy 'we didn't even try' fake video game actually looked better than R60?

Ice-T read on Kotaku that it was better than Civilization 5 with the Brave New World expansion pack and I trust him.

I have a feeling that this isn't getting the attention that it should

/v/'s gamergate thread is bretty good too for latest happenings and info and digging.
I can't believe Jason "Objectivity is a silly thing to strive for" Schreier doesn't like the episode. Its almost like SVU got their "facts" from the same people who said "gamers are dead." Who would've thought that if you report on something like its the truth, people will think it is the truth.
What a revolutionary discovery! :v:

Yes, very much so. I'd [del]play[/del] try it if it had the advertised features too, seemed like a browser strategy game but with actual (not that good) 3D graphics.
[editline]12th February 2015[/editline]
On that note: I think half my class in school was playing an online war game (one of those spreadsheet things) at one point.
Our maths teacher did too so they talked briefly about it each lesson :v:

It was pretty much Wyrm with animations.
NBC was so nice to upload a few high-quality "behind the scenes" pictures: http://www.nbc.com/law-and-order-special-victims-unit/photos/photos-from-intimidation-game/2227381

I just want to point out something about Wu trending on Facebook. She states that she got over 40 death threats. Seems like a pitiful amount for a 6-month-long "campaign of hate against women", don'tcha think?
Okay, back to talking about ethics.
For those unaware, Supanova has elected to still have Adam Baldwin at their expo.
