just want you to know nanotechnology is a coined term that means almost nothing today. most microprocessors fall under the category of "nanotechnology" aka a pentium 4 isn't going to make me invisible
Oh wow just no. Nanotech is technology making use of compounds and materials and structures created at or active at the nanoscale, not a fucking computer CPU.
Aw fuck it, let's get the whole thing out of the way.
U-UNATCO?
Jetpacks. Just, jetpacks. :v:
Screw Aliens species
This wont happen in quite some time yet. What a shame. Edit:
I wouldn't mind a robotic pinkie toe. It would be amazing.
Anti wasp automated laser defences, one gets within 10 feet and it gets set on fire. :pcgaming:
I kinda want to become an engineer for this kind of thing. Or make motherfucking planes. And guns. And become Iron Man.
Yeah, probably not
I'm going to university to learn how to research such things. Wish me luck.
If governments pour money into this kind of shit we can get this even faster. Hence a very powerful centralised technocracy is very much required if we are to do this quickly.

I want eye modification, like being able to see in the dark, zoom, or like ghost in a shell, where you can see and talk to people like a phone.
Let's pour money we don't have, into something we don't need.
Umm this is necesary so we can advance our species to ware shades at night
U-UNATCO?
No. Savage.
I want my eyes augmented to be fisheye lenses.
It would be pretty cool. But then you have people who can't afford it and then people will never be hired for good jobs because they don't have brain or muscle augmentations. We have a long time to go before any augmentations happen so we'll worry about that when it comes to it.
I hate that argument. You probably have a cellphone now, do you know how much that cost just 25 years ago? It took 10-15 years for it to get to a level that all could get it, or at least afford to loan money to it.
I'll pass thanks. I actually like being human.
What a shame.
I was reading this book, the author is a woman who can see the future. Wether or not if this is going to be true or not, but she said around 2020 there will be advanced technology that can eliminate blindness and being deaf.
I'm pretty sure there are already little things that you can get connected to the nerves in your ear so you can hear even if you're deaf. Shit quality though.
I would appreciate a replacement for these fucking deficient eyeballs, God created us to see shit around the Earth's curve :v:
And instead of dying we will merge with Helios. [img_thumb]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/98/DX2Main-2004-04-19-23-55-13.jpg[/img_thumb] Actually I want this to happen too...
Why would you want to merge with Helios? We'd give up all individuality and become like the Borg.
Why would you want to merge with Helios? We'd give up all individuality and become like the Borg.
"Helios will communicate, not assimilate" is the exact line he comes out with if you ask that in game :v: There's a difference between a hivemind and what would pretty much be the internet in your head.
Once on facebook someone asked me what my favorite superpower was. One word: Lazerdong
This thread makes me think of the movie Repo Men, where they had bionic implants for all sorts of stuff. The one chick had mechanical ears that could hear stuff from miles away. They even had a built-in headphone jack. Personally I'd like some sort of visual augmentation. After reading about animals that can see all sorts of shit, it makes me really sad we can only see the visible spectrum.
I kinda want to become an engineer for this kind of thing. Or make motherfucking planes. And guns. And become Iron Man.
That's more in the field of nanotechnology and fusion power though. Unless you intend to genetically modify your brain to be insanely smart so you can build a miniature fusion reactor in a cave with a box of scraps (except they were far from scrap and he didn't really invent fusion there and then, more like miniaturized something he had already invented, but still not something everyone can do to say the least). Anyway I don't ask for much, all I want is an augmentation giving me a really long lifespan (10000 years would be ok). Wouldn't say no to superspeed and superreflexes, then I can wear a trenchcoat and sunglasses at all times.
In my personal opinion, human augmentation will never happen on a large scale as long as there are religious/moral people ranting with their "If God/Other Deity wanted us to do that we'd be born with it." ideals. Other than that, it'd be really interesting to see how augmentations would evolve over time. I imagine at first they'd be purely for increased physical/mental abilities, but rather quickly would move towards things for pleasure/entertainment like giving people tails or claws or something of the like.

So don't go doubting it just because of religion.

Just look at the matter of gay marriage, the Catholic Church is still trying to throw it's weight around.
100k for invisibility, spend all life's fundings, get something else I never asked for this...
