Ok I misread that, but still :v:
Should've saw that coming :v:
My mom likes Megadeth and Mastodon and one time she listened to Meshuggah but she didn't like the vocals.
She's getting there, though!
Oh and she's seen Slayer live with me.

[editline]3rd December 2010[/editline]
no dammit ninja, my avatar does not miss you
he listens to Boards of Canada.
I started on math rock with metal influence and went on to metal church and metallica and atheist and explored the history of the genre from there (along side hardcore punk)
What the fuck is with all you guys having awesome parents that listen to metal.
My dad listens to 60s and 70s rock, outside of that, mainstream rock only (Green Day, American Idiot and up; Nickelback; etc, etc) and my mum listens to country.
:saddowns:
Oh well, I guess my parents make up that fault with the fact they play computer games more than I do. :smug:
I've missed you :unsmith:
o ye competing over whose parents are better
did we all turn 7 again?
The new agalloch album is boring.
And into the painted gray is maybe the crappiest song agalloch has ever made :geno:
I like agalloch more than opeth.
There I said it.
I just ordered it, I'm hoping my pure blistering fanboyism will shield me from disapoointment
I like agalloch more than opeth.
There I said it.
Opeth got me into metal properly, but now I have outgrown it. Mostly listen to Post-rock/metal and Agalloch nowadays.
Speaking of ordering CDs, my Dopethrone and Black Mass CDs didn't arrive yesterday like they were supposed too ;_;

FINE CHOICES.

Electric Wizard are fucking amazing
That is all
I feel like I'm too soft in terms of metal to be involved in this thread. ):
Metal is metal, we don't judge... except SickJits, but he is aloud judgement
Never got stoner metal
It's just, well you know what it is
Its boring
Stoner metal's an alright genre but Eletric Wizard are the only one I would really choose to listen to because they're very doomy and sludgy.
Stoner rock on the other hand is shit.

How could you say this is shit or boring!
I've never liked all the southern stuff in stoner rock really. It's not a bad genre I just don't really think it's that great.

oHSHIT GUYS
Swedish progressive metallers OPETH will enter Atlantis studios (formerly Metronome studios) in Stockholm on January 31, 2011 to begin recording their tenth album for a fall 2011 release via Roadrunner Records. Jens Bogren (SOILWORK, KATATONIA, PARADISE LOST, BLOODBATH) will engineer the effort while mixing duties will be handled by Steven Wilson (PORCUPINE TREE). The new material has been described by the band as "good." OPETH's last album, "Watershed" (2008), sold more than 19,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 23 on The Billboard 200 chart. Its predecessor, "Ghost Reveries", debuted at No. 64 on the Billboard chart back in September 2005 with first-week sales of just under 15,000. OPETH's 2003 album, "Damnation", opened with a little over 5,000 copies. As part of the ongoing celebration of their 20th anniversary, OPETH released live footage and audio from the band's performance at London's famed Royal Albert Hall. The concert (recorded on April 5, 2010) included two sets, the first consisting of the band performing 2000's now-classic, breakthrough epic "Blackwater Park" in its entirety, and the second, a chronologically arranged selection of material from the rest of OPETH's extensive catalogue, totaling almost three hours of music. "In Live Concert At The Royal Albert Hall" is, like the rest of OPETH's greatest work, "purposefully warped in all the right places" (Decibel). The front cover artwork concept pays tribute to DEEP PURPLE's "Concerto for Group and Orchestra", underlining the band's longstanding love for their prog-rock roots.
:gizz: O MAN YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

ಠ_ಠ
Fuck yeah Opeth.
Just for that, I am going to listen to Wreath in a celebratory fashion. :toot:
well okay yeah that stuff is great
I mean stuff like Sleep and Electric Wizard
I don't listen to much metal. I like Equilibrium, Finntroll, Blind Guardian and Cathedral.
I have Agalloch and Moonsorrow I need to listen to also, but I haven't much.
Shower me with metal recommendations even if they aren't anything like any of the bands listed.
listen to Anaal Nathrakh
