I started on math rock with metal influence and went on to metal church and metallica and atheist and explored the history of the genre from there (along side hardcore punk)

What the fuck is with all you guys having awesome parents that listen to metal. My dad listens to 60s and 70s rock, outside of that, mainstream rock only (Green Day, [i]American Idiot[/i] and up; Nickelback; etc, etc) and my mum listens to country. :saddowns: Oh well, I guess my parents make up that fault with the fact they play computer games more than I do. :smug:

Stoner metal's an alright genre but Eletric Wizard are the only one I would really choose to listen to because they're very doomy and sludgy. Stoner rock on the other hand is shit.

I don't listen to much metal. I like Equilibrium, Finntroll, Blind Guardian and Cathedral. I have Agalloch and Moonsorrow I need to listen to also, but I haven't much. Shower me with metal recommendations even if they aren't anything like any of the bands listed.
