Yes I've heard of them last friday :buddy:
Dangit, bobby :sigh: Well, how 'bout some progressive black metal, from a band called Cobalt?
That is motherfucking awesome. Also I took some screens of my favourite playlist. I don't use playlists, I just choose an album to listen to.
Playlists are quite useful while working out. Or when you're in the shower.
Oh, so you meant progressive metal as in djent, eh? Check out a band called Textures, if you haven't yet. They're actually the band that got me interested in this whole djent-thingy :v: oh god damn it all, I think I'm going blind :suicide:

Yeah I knew Textures before I knew of djent and stuff. They introduced it I guess you could say :buddy: Great band.
I knew about Textures because my cousin covers songs of them on his bass. The same cousin also taught me how to write in polyrhythms.
does anybody else here really not like anything with "core" at the end? i really cannot get into that sort of metal for the life of me
does anybody else here really not like anything with "core" at the end? i really cannot get into that sort of metal for the life of me
post-ironic beardcore 4 lyfe
does anybody else here really not like anything with "core" at the end? i really cannot get into that sort of metal for the life of me
No, I like everything with core at the end. Check this hilarious cover of Rihanna's ''Only Girl''.
Wow. That's really cool. To be honest, I've never really listened to post-metal because I've never really been given a clear definition of what is it. The closest I've come is NahemaH, who mix melodic death metal, post-metal, and jazz together. If this is a good example of what post-metal sounds like, then I can completely understand why people consider Mastodon's Crack the Skye to be heavily post-metal as well. :iia: Thank you, mynames. I think I may have found a new genre to look into. :buddy:
I'm glad :v: As other people have said, listen to Isis, tis good stuff, more chilled out and less sludgy than this though
True true Music forum is best forum. Chill as shit and we can talk without fear of getting banned just for something silly like you would anywhere else :v:
I love the music forum <3 Definitely has the best people on facepunch as its residents
My sleeping pattern is non-existant :frown: Anyone got any interesting Technical/Progressive/Intelligent Metal for me?
You got Keith Merrow? It's like djent except really fucking catchy
You got Keith Merrow? No exceptions. But, disregarding that, I'll just post some Lykathea Aflame, then. Technical/progressive death metal from the Czech Republic.
I know Keith Merrow yeah but haven't gotten the chance to buy or download his stuff. [editline]23:06[/editline] Pretty cool song Kalkka. And wauw 35 posts today, I've never been this active. [editline]23:07[/editline] Once I get a guitar my goal will be to learn at least one full Cloudkicker song within a year. Oh yeah and I saw this on SS.org. Oh man, Christmas is such an awesome album
Dangit, bobby :sigh: Well, how 'bout some progressive black metal, from a band called Cobalt?
:respek: Fuckin' love me some Cobalt
wow i totally forgot that this was the metal thread when i was reading it :v: why don't we have our own off-topic thread? seems like lots of other subforums have them :v:
Because we'd just end up talking about Post Rock and coats
Wish the vocals were better, great instrumentals
Like I mentioned in the Melodeath thread, my usual music-seeking channel is down and out for the moment. However, I decided to pop on over to metalreviews and see what they had. After sifting through a bunch of shit, I found this gem, in the name of Valborg. Just listen to this song, "I Am Space." It mixes pop rock, ala David Bowie, with death metal, in a most curious way. The vocals are clean in the beginning, but they progressively get harsher. By the 4:00 mark, they're pretty much all harsh. I must say it's quite a catchy song. I suggest you guys listen to it all - even if you just have it run in the background whilst doing other things.
