does anybody else here really not like anything with "core" at the end? i really cannot get into that sort of metal for the life of me
Almost everyone here hates anything with core at the end, excluding myself about 5 or so others [editline]1st February 2011[/editline]
I love the music forum <3 Definitely has the best people on facepunch as its residents
I think it's on par with Drug Discussion There are some great and really intelligent people, not to mention they treat everyone like family there [editline]1st February 2011[/editline]
wow i totally forgot that this was the metal thread when i was reading it :v: why don't we have our own off-topic thread? seems like lots of other subforums have them :v:
This is a joke thread essentially. We're just using this thread to discuss anything music related basically, ofc metal is preferred [editline]1st February 2011[/editline]
Because we'd just end up talking about Post Rock and coats
Damn right
I like some Core music. Mostly Hardcore and Grindcore.
I like some Core music. Mostly Hardcore and Grindcore.
I hate everything with -core in it, all those kinda bands I've tried to listen to have forgot the meaning of melody and sense.
I still don't get why the call it 'core' when it misses the fucking point completely. By logic, Hardcore should mean 'the core of hard music', drop D is NOT hard. Anyways, stress relief:
dude do you have any idea what you're talking about? I don't know any "core" bands that play in drop D... They'd probably use something lower like drop C or drop B
dude do you have any idea what you're talking about? I don't know any "core" bands that play in drop D... They'd probably use something lower like drop C or drop B
The key word is 'drop'.
i'm sure there's a lot of good -core bands, it's just the older stuff. vedicardi posted an original metalcore band awhile back and I thought it was actually pretty decent it's the new stuff that's just a real disgrace to the genres
chug chug chug breakdown chug

Most post-hardcore, metalcore and deathcore = lame as shit pretty much everything else that ends in -core = sex
I don't like grindcore that much. I have a soft spot for metalcore though.
I prefer grindcore, particularly of the electronic kind. In other news, an awesome band name came to me out of nowhere last night: Oh, the huMANATEE! it's funny because it's a pun

metalcoooore Dave Witte is a beast of a drummer. I still think Post-Ironic Beardcore is the best core. [sp]Since it covers almost all cores.[/sp]
wow i totally forgot that this was the metal thread when i was reading it :v: why don't we have our own off-topic thread? seems like lots of other subforums have them :v:
Yeah I was thinking of making a general music talk (or even just chat but that would probably get locked for not being music) thread. I might actually if ever I can be bothered to do so.
yes
Jazz metal? :v:
I've never heard jazz that sounds like that I wouldn't say AaL are metal anyway, just avantgarde
i'm sure there's a lot of good -core bands, it's just the older stuff. vedicardi posted an original metalcore band awhile back and I thought it was actually pretty decent it's the new stuff that's just a real disgrace to the genres
integrity never forget
integrity never forget
Wasn't it Racid(that guy who was like SickJits except earlier) who posted them first? They are pretty good
yeah he posted them in pretty much every thread [editline]1st February 2011[/editline] I mean it was just sickjits
They are pretty awesome though
I think that metal is poorly classified frequently. A lot of bands that consider themselves to be x-core are much heavier than others that are in their 'class'.
Core indicates hardcore influences so not all core bands have to be the same.
More or less, what I mean is the system (if it can be called that) isn't very specific.
That's true, but you don't want sub-genres of twenty words.
