The only tech metal I like is melodic tech (and not bullshit like Arsis). I mean stuff like Quo Vadis, Codeon, Allegaeon... stuff like that. Decapitated are pretty intense, too.

Some of their songs (only saying some because I've only listened to four or five, which isn't enough to generalize yet) are a bit too wankfest for me. Instrumental tech bands are a nice change of pace, but I get tired of them pretty quickly. Bands like Animals as Leaders, Blotted Science, etc.

Yeah same I find it boring to listen to The only instrumental tech bands I really like to listen to properly are Scale the Summit and Keith Merrow. I don't dislike tech I just don't find it that great to listen to when it's instrumental Unless it's jazz fusion. Then I love it.

Besides the fact that Bieber's music is pretty much engineered to appeal to the layman (which is as much a social study as a musical one), to even BEGIN to think that something as generally demanding and complex as tech is somehow not demanding or complex is baffling. I'm not a big tech fan, I listen to Obscura and some similar bands, but that's just stupid

Well they're not a serious band. They're not meant to be taken seriously. or not completely seriously anyway. They're a fun band. I'm pretty sure they intend to look silly... :rolleyes:

they look like they are seriously trying to make good music and that's why it's funny to watch them trying to hard to sound good while they are in reality just making the most bizarre stupid sounds, with that girl screaming as if any of the lyrics mean anything

They do make good sounding music great infact just because you don't like it doesn't make it bad. And they know their lyrics don't mean anything, they're either inside jokes with the band or fun stuff. They've said it before on interviews.
