Word of mouth, last fm, just trawl through lists of bands, spot awesome sounding names and check out the awesomely named bands (how I found Hail of Bullets, Diesel Machine and Guthrie Govan) check out bands you like and see what labels their on and check others on the same label etc.

Yeah they're big supporters of the organisation. The album cover to From mars To Sirius is based off the logo.

In regards to Gojira supporting the Sea Shepherd, they all grew up on the coastal cliffs of France, so they appreciate nature.
Most of their lyrics show this. The Way Of All Flesh is about the cycle of life iirc.

Sonispheres 2009 lineup was good but it immediatley nose dived the year after and again this year, bloodstock is the only decent looking one I've seen so far.
Even looked at Wackens for this year and there wasn't much on the lineup worth seeing when I looked.
