I'm rediscovering some songs from Pantera which I didn't care about much (thought it was another 90s metal group). Are you guys going to any shows this year? I'm going to see System of a Down and the Big 4 this summer.

Got Devin Townsend in March :love: Absolutely psyched. Gonna be playing shit from Ghost and Decon and I am so looking forward to them. Then there's Children of Bodom (going mainly for support- Amon amarth, Ensiferum and Machinae Supremacy) in April If my friend can get a ticket I'm going to go to BMTH in April. Supported by Parkway Drive (:frogc00l:), Architects and TDWP. (it's sold out, only tickets left are on eBay so she's trying to get ones for me and her! :buddy:) Then there's Anaal Nathrakh in May supported by Drugzilla. They're like speedcore or some other abrasive electronic genre. But they're fans of AN so they're supporting them. Can't say I'm looking forward to seeing them lol Rolo Tomassi in May as well. No word on support yet. Iron Fucking Maiden in July :rock: Airbourne supporting. Really looking forward to this show. So that Suffocation song that En-Guage posted last page was the first Suffocation song I've ever listened to. I don't think Suffocation are my pot of tea. That was possibly one of the most boring metal songs I've ever heard. Right up there with Obscura's "Anti-Cosmic Overload" and Nile's "Papyrus Containing the Spell to Preserve its Possessor Against Attacks From He Who Is in the Water." I was going to include Necrophagist's "Stabwound," but even that song was a bit more exciting. :v:

I find most all tech and brutal metal to be incredibly boring and monotone. Just because you can play really fast or really complex doesn't mean you should; there's a line separating where its complex yet enjoyable and just mindless wankery. Many tech/brutal bands don't really know where that line is and, unintentionally or otherwise, cross it. That aside, I found the song's vocals to be incredibly monotone and uneventful. The drumming was impressive, but that's about all the song had going for me. It didn't even sound good; it was simply technically impressive. At least until it got to blastbeats.
