In some sense all of the following are groove metal:
Machine Head
DevilDriver
Lamb of God
And then there is the origin of groove metal: Pantera.
Been listening to Lamb of God for years, I'll give Pantera a try
I love great thrash and I found this band recently, they have a really good guitar tone.

very nice bass. cool
On that same note, I'm trying to find more Death/Thrash. Not like power or heavy metal influences. More... angrier?
Examples
Protector

Dekapitator (actually one of my favorite albums, such a shame the bands done)

Sodom (not underground obviously but theres a reason they're one of my favorite bands)

If you like Lamb of God, you'll most likely also like Pantera

One would very much hope so.
I recommend starting with the album The Great Southern Trendkill. It is my favorite Pantera album BY FAR.

Awesome album, that, and Far Beyond Driven are my favourites, I just can't pick one :v:
Clouds Over California is a great track yeah. I just get a feeling of filler when listening to their albums
They seem to have one or two very good tracks on albums and lots that aren't very interesting.
Every album DevilDriver have put out past The Fury of Our Maker's Hand isn't that good, and DevilDriver is even worse. In my opinion, Fury is their best album by far. Especially the title track, Before the Hangman's Noose, Grinfucked, and Driving Down the Darkness.
Mutual buddy likes them? Fuck that's a bit of a suprise
I listened to their newest album Wormwood and I didn't like it, that was a long time ago.
Recently for the hell of it I checked out their album 3750 that a friend put on my PC, it's awesome as fuck. The same friend said their best album was this one.

Also someone should recommend me some speed metal, really want to get into it
Heard some on Scrubs the other day (unexpected) and it sounded pretty fucking awesome.
What are some of the best speed metal bands?
The speed metal on scrubs was devildriver, The Devils Son

I should listen to Prey for Villians, been a while since I listened to it, great album too.
Devin Townsend Project in a week...
Also, tell what do you think of this Finnish metal band called Stam1na:

They're really popular in there, but I'd like to see what people that are not from Finland think about it.
Here's another great song from them:

There are actually lot of people that don't understand a word of what they're singing (i.e. not Finnish), but they still love the band.

real rockers!

:smugdog::pipe:
Cheers, and yeah Dev's just completely awesome.
I wanted to stay after gig and have a drink with him but I would have had to walk home from glasgow city centre about 10 - 20 miles to my house in the pitch black along a motorway :saddowns:
It's a good picture, I think it's the only one I've seen of you where you're not drunk or look like you're about to rape the person holding the camera.
(Which I'm glad of in this case, since I was holding the camera :ohdear:)

DUDE I JUST DOWNLOADED AN APP FOR MY PHONE WHICH HAS THE LOCATION OF MANY MANY HIPSTER BARS!!
BAR CRAWL IN THE SUMMER!!! :smugdog::pipe:
I don't want to get run over by fixies :ohdear:
[editline]23rd March 2011[/editline]
Also I just noticed a blurry Jahanasaurus in your pic :v:
Fuckin Jahan :colbert:
Reading a review for the Belle, and the guy literally over heard:
"I identify with the South American Embroiders who were killed for this scarf and that is why I wear it every day, except when I wear the other one."
Dude, get everyone together for the summer cause we are hitting these places, the sheer awesomeness of it will be amazing, and as an added bonus our hipster cred will skyrocket :v:
oh god :suicide:
But dude, think about it, hipster bars are hipster bars, which means, hipster alcohol
:monocle:
They will have..... Neutral Milk?
:science:
They will have..... Neutral Milk?

Only if it is in a hotel, mate.
It's a hipster bar, not a hipster hotel :rolleye:
It's a hipster bar, not a hipster hotel :rolleye:
Bars can be in hotels :science:
Dudes I'm dead serious here, hipster barcrawl, glasgow in the summer, open invitation to get wasted and make constant ironic hipster jokes.
:smugdog: I'll even get a monocle and pipe, but for now, to the doctors! :v:
They will have..... Neutral Milk?

And PBR, lots of it!
