Questions and comments always welcomed!
Glad to know things are going better! I really hope it is all gone bud! You are very strong to be able to go through all of this!
Do cancer patients shave off their hair? Or does it fall off?
my dad my uncle died from cancer :( my brother almost got killed I may have testicular cancer I found a lump and it will get examined soon
Do cancer patients shave off their hair? Or does it fall off?
The hair has to be shaved off. If it isn't, it'll fall off because of the radiation therapy.
You are a great man. Also what's the reason for the hair shaving?
You are a great man. Also whats the reason for the hair shaving?
Eh, hair loss is a side effect of the chemo.
Eh, hair loss is a side effect of the chemo.
Ah silly me. I thought so.
They shave it off because otherwise it comes out in gross clumps over time I assme
It feels weird knowing that I live about 1 hour or so away from you and that your a FP member too. Good to hear that you are getting better and that it should all be gone. When my grandpa beat cancer he was like normal as if nothing had happened.
They shave it off because otherwise it comes out in gross clumps over time I assme
Exactly.
God bless and well done. I hope it is over now. Nobody deserves cancer.
That part about the bone marrow transplant was incredible! Isn't it amazing what technology and innovation can do these days? I'm really glad to hear you've recovered buddy and I hope all the best for you!
I wish you strenght, I hope you can overcome all your problems.
Wow.. 07er you are a freakin' LEGEND! Will your immune system eventually kick back in and let your body defend it's self or do you need to be weary of your health from now on? Either way I'm really, genuinely happy that you're alive and kickin' some cancer ass chuck norris style. Luv u <3
I had my treatments last week, Mon tues wed. It wasn't quite as bad this time around, I hardly felt nauseous at all, just kinda tired all the time. The only bad thing is the last two days or so I've gotten some bad mouth sores from the treatment, which I never had at all last year. It's like cankers all over and in my throat so it makes it hard to swallow, to eat, to talk even. So it's been a rough few days but today I'm feeling a bit better and can tell they are going away. I hadn't even touched my computer in 3 days or so :uhoh: I'm trying to find a laptop for around $600, so that I can use that when I'm sick on the couch or when I have to go live at the hospital too. If anyone sees a good deal let me know :D
eh, since this thread is back on the frontpage, I remember those so bad. did you have to "swish and swallow" that nasty yellow stuff?
http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/7452/dsc6761.jpg
I'm sorry, but I just couldn't help but laugh. Good to see you're coming along fine. You also got to be a Respected User, good for you.
My dad just got out of chemo for Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma, he was so happy when he got out. But he has to get checked up every now and then to make sure nothing's coming back. Also you're doing pretty well, hope you get better.
No more cancer and a title on FP!? How could this get any better? (Lottery)
Get well soon m8
Go Cougars! lol just saw you are going to BYU (USU here). good luck bro with all of it, it takes a lot of balls to deal with cancer, you deserve that custom title, as you are very respected.
Gen0Noob, a user here, has cancer right now. Go say hi to him damn it!
Oohh... I had surgery on my right foot once because of fused bone. The first few nights were a blur of vomit (from over-strong painkiller), pain (when the painkiller wore off), and trippy dreams. The rest was mostly ok, though my general appearance and social life deteriorated considerably for about half a year. Even though I can walk without crutches now, and better than before, reading your story made my feet feel REALLY weird. I am by no means squeamish, but my feet are. Kinda like an old lady who says, "It's gonna' rain, I can feel it in my bones." "Ewww, he's talking about foot problems and nausea, I can feel it in my bones." I can't imagine how difficult parts of this must have been for you. Not being able to walk very well, pain, blackouts, etc. I coped with my condition by getting addicted to Team Fortress... It sound like you must have done something similar. I am impressed that you never had more than one, "Really bad day/thing happen." With problems like that... I would expect more! I only had one really shitty day when I was recovering my foot. It was actually night time, and my dad was looking at the weather. I walked (crutched) in from our cramped kitchen, and was going back to my chair in front of my computer, when I got distracted (I think from someone talking to me) and stopped in front of the TV. Now, let me say that my parents are REALLY good. My dad is very responsible and nice-- I have seen and heard of far, far worse. What he did to piss me off really wasn't much anyway, but it was emotionally very stressful at the time. I was in front of the TV, and he kept repeatedly saying, in a loud voice, "Get out of the way, Get out of the way!" He was actually, it turned out, trying to kid around a bit; I had no clue, and I wasn't able to move quickly at all on crutches. I got really pissed and called him a bastard, and felt horrible the rest of the night.
eh, since this thread is back on the frontpage, I remember those so bad. did you have to "swish and swallow" that nasty yellow stuff?
No... not sure what you are talking about. They gave me some mouthwash that numbed up my throat, it was pretty weird stuff. It didn't taste bad though.
Did your views on religion, or any in deep thought about life occur during the process of realization, and then recovery?
Well, being Mormon all my life, I'm pretty religious anyway. My belief in God definitely helped a ton in dealing with having cancer. I felt very blessed the whole time, especially this last bit in the hospital when everything went so well, as well as it could have possibly gone.
Oh, and thanks to everyone for all your well wishes and comments! Means a lot!
Woah, that's rough. Glad you're alright.
You're a pretty good looking guy. Could do a bit work on the abs, but overall, 9/10. And good job staying strong!
So you're pretty much all better? That's great to hear!
