I only have my self to blame but I do feel people should put a lot more emphasis on A/S levels, you don't realise until after you've done them that they're going to be the things sent off on your ucas application.
Got into Kingston to do Games Tech and Math. I'm so glad I got in.
Officially accepted into Queen's University Belfast, absolutely chuffed :D
Anyone see the girl on the BBC who opened her test results live?
You want to be a dentist you say, love? That A-Level in business studies sure will help you in that!
There was another guy who opened his envelope in a group, my god his face was the epitome of disgust, shame and embarrassment
That was me on the unit result days.
Got into do Business at Portsmouth with ABB
lol I've just seen myself on TV
The BBC were filming at Newcastle college, and I was in the background in one of the shots they just showed now. They actually did ask me if they could film me finding out my results with a few other friends but there wasn't a chance in hell I'd do that incase I had failed as much as I thought I had. :v:
Does anyone know any good universities for journalism and can anyone explain clearing in more detail?
Does anyone know any good universities for journalism and can anyone explain clearing in more detail?
maybe you should do some "investigation" :downs:
Alright I passed!
Got ABBBC, which means I'm in to Staffordshire :D
Woke up ten minutes ago. No results for me today, I guess.
Got a triple merit on my BTEC National Diploma (equal to 3 A levels) today.
I'm getting an Indian meal out tonight to celebrate my cousins results.
I hope you guys do well and don't panic, I practically failed my A-Levels and got my top choice university.
And remember there's always another option.

Jesus fuck, is everyone going to Staffs?
Either way congrats mate, what you doing?

Heh, I've met quite a few who are going there... seems to be a very popular choice :P
I'm doing the games programming course, what about you?

And everyone in here going to Staffs seems to be doing the game programming course or something IT related.
I'm going in for Accounting and Finance on the Stoke campus.
Well I personally felt that their games courses were better than any of the others I looked at, so I guess that's a popular opinion :P
What A-level grades did you get?
Congratulations man
Depending on what I get I may see you there
What course?
Computer Science with AI, yourself?
Got my grades, A*AB :) Although something is up with one of my physics modules, got a U for using a data logger in an investigation. The alternative was having my eyes dart between a stopwatch and voltmeter every 0.5 seconds as my hand simultaneously wrote down my results.. The class only had four in it and we all got dropped from A/Bs to Us, so we're gonna appeal. This is why I don't like Edexcel ¬_¬ We'll see what happens.. I'm just happy I got in!
Congrats to everyone else on their results/uni places :)

Yeah I went on one of their open days and had a little snoop around some of the Games talks, seems like a decent course.
And I got 3 Cs but this was an Unconditional Insurance offer. How about you?
Well done everybody who got into their desired Uni. Feels pretty good to not have to worry about it any more, for those who didn't, don't feel too bad, a A Level can help you get a better job than flipping burgers even if you didn't get a high grade.
Plus there are always apprenticeships.
Anyone here apply for the UEA by any chance?
Was only my AS results, straight A's :D
(Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry)
Oh and a D in A2 General Studies.
..but it's General Studies, so oh well
Well I opened them up to find DDE and died a little. Expected my Uni to say this to me:

But for some reason they were like "Sucks, but you're still in". So whatever.
So I got my AS results - BBCCC. So, not terrible, but not great either. Better than I expected though, considering the amount of work I didn't put into them :v:
Looks like I'm going to be going to Plymouth, doing Robotics.
I'm going for the same course! We should team up.
I'm curious: for those of you doing AS levels or lower, are you still going to University with the fees increase?
When I see all the middle class girls in photos and videos I think of a video I saw last year, where a girl read her results got excited and then read them again only to start crying. I shouldn't have laughed but I did.

Oh sweet! Have to meet up during Freshers or something...

I am yeah.
The way I see it, hundreds of thousands of people go to university and still will despite the increase, so I'll deal with the cost just like everyone else does.
And from what I've read, you don't start paying it back till you earn over £21k a year, and if you don't earn more than that for 30 years it gets wiped off anyway.
i.e. you only pay for it if you get a job out of it.
Which to be honest - doesn't sound that bad to me.

That's true, many students have dealt with it before so its just a bit longer paying it off. My careers teacher is probably in his late 30s now and only finished paying it back a few years back. I thought it was £15k a year? I bet the government will change it before then so it won't get wiped, just you see! :v:
For my AS:
Maths - A
Further Maths - A
Physics - A
Systems & Control - B
Also, 100% in Maths and Physics!
Well done to everyone else who got their results today.

My government pays for all our tuition fees, the only costs we pay are for the living costs.
